Stampin’ Up! Butterflies Abound Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! This is another installment of the Joint Blog Hop between the Happy Inkin’ Thursday and Happy Stampers Blog Hop ladies!  I hope you really enjoy all the inspiration you can get from our talented folks!

We always get a sketch and a color challenge and we can use either or both!  I went with both this week – and pulled out some butterflies and other images from the Beauty Abounds stamp set (which you’ll be able to get your hands on come 3 Jan!) as well as some pretty die cuts from the bundled Butterfly Beauty Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

As I mentioned – we get a sketch and a color challenge!

I have to admit, that color challenge is outside my comfort zone – so…I decided to accept the challenge!

I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock, matted on Smoky Slate, and added some splotches from the Beauty Abounds set in stamped off once Smoky Slate.  Over those, I used the dots image and stamped some in stamped off once Calypso Coral and also Coastal Cabana.

And – I stamped the large leaf flourish in Smoky Slate to complete the stamped portion of my collage!

I cut two leaves – one each in Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

Using the two large butterfly dies from Butterfly Beauty, I cut the more solid die in Coastal Cabana and the detailed die in Calypso Coral.  I snipped some of the butterflies apart – and then adhered the largest Calypso Coral butterfly to the Coastal Cabana die cut with Liquid Glue.  I adhered the whole thing to a piece of Whisper White and fussy cut it – so that it would be “solid”.  Then I popped it all over the collage with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I adhered a couple of the smaller snipped butterflies with Liquid Glue.

For the sentiment, I stamped Hello in Smoky Slate on a piece of Whisper White and punched it with the Classic Label Punch.  I adhered it over the butterfly with Liquid Glue.

To finish off the card front, I added a small wooden Butterfly Element (this is a FREE gift you’ll be able to choose with a $50 order come Sale-A-Bration in January!) and a few Pearl Basic Jewels here and there on the card front.

On the inside, I borrowed a sentiment from Well Said (another new stamp set coming on 3 Jan in the 2019 Occasions Catalog) and added it in Smoky Slate to a Whisper White panel.  Over that, I stamped the dots image in stamped-off-TWICE Calypso Coral.  Then I added a Coastal Cabana butterfly.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Smoky Slate mat and into the Coastal Cabana card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Beauty Abounds dots and butterflies on the front…

…and I added a veritable bevy of flutterbys to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Butterflies and flowers and abstract images for perfect collage-stamping?  AND wonderful sentiments?!? Yep – you’ll get them all in the Beauty Abounds stamp set – and when you bundle it with the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits, you’ll get that huge and gorgeous die cut!  Yowza!!  I hope you like!
