Stampin’ Up! Happiness Surrounds Your Day for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a sketch challenge and I know you’ll see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop.

I used the new Happiness Surrounds stamp set and Snowfall Thinlits atop a little All Is Bright DSP.  Take a look-see!

Aaaaannd….here’s our sketch!

I decided to play along with the theme challenge celebrating Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary at the Global Design Project!  This is a birthday card, so…it fits!

I started by matting a piece of the All Is Bright DSP on some Shaded Spruce card stock for the card front.  Then I ran a length of Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8″ Reversible Ribbon around the panel – securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

For the art, I stamped the big image from the Happiness Surrounds stamp set in Shaded Spruce on a piece of Whisper White and cut it with the largest circle Stitched Shapes Framelits die.

With the solid flower die in the Snowfall Thinlits, I cut a Merry Merlot flower from the Joyous Noel 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper and one from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.  I also cut a detailed flower from the Sparkle paper.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the detailed flower to the Merry Merlot flower and adhered that to the center of the stamped medallion with Liquid Glue.  On the Sparkle solid flower, I stamped the Happiness Surrounds sentiment in Shaded Spruce and popped it onto the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I popped the whole circle onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I planned to add a Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8″ Reversible Ribbon bow to the card, so, to make it look more “real” and less “faux”, I took a short piece of Gold Metallic Thread and tied it snugly around the spot I intended to place the bow.  Then I adhered the bow to the card with a Glue Dot and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Happiness Surrounds in Shaded Spruce to a Whisper White panel.  Then, using my Stamparatus and the hinge-step technique, I stamped the flower border image in Shaded Spruce and Merry Merlot.  I inked the flowers using my Stampin’ Write Markers to color the stamp directly.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Shaded Spruce mat and into my Merry Merlot card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium got more of the hinge-stepped flowers from Happiness Surrounds on the front…

…and I added more All Is Bright DSP to the envelope flap.

Et voila!  Do NOT underestimate the wonderfulness of the Happiness Surrounds set – and the entire Snowflake Showcase!  From Christmas to birthdays and congratulation to encouraging words – this suite’s got you covered – so be sure to get them soon!  Hope you like!
