Stampin’ Up! Snow is Glistening Merry Christmas

Well.  Here we are.  It’s Friday already – and getting close to the end of my time in Colorado.  Pretty hard to believe – when I arrived two weeks ago it felt like we had lots of time.  But….nope.  The time has flown – I can’t believe it’s almost over.  🙁

I made a fun little card for you guys today with the upcoming, limited availability Snow is Glistening stamp set (coming on 1 Nov), that I put on a little bit of Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is a loose CASE of Krista Frattin’s card for this week’s Global Design Project Case the Designer challenge!

I started with some tree-covered paper from the Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP and matted it on Poppy Parade card stock for the card front.

On a smaller Whisper White panel, I used my Stamparatus to ink and stamp the large and lovely tree from the Snow Is Glistening stamp set in Call Me Clover.  Read on down for details on this set – you’ll be able to get it starting 1 Nov.

I matted the panel on Poppy Parade and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

The sentiment, also from Snow Is Glistening, is stamped in Poppy Parade on a Whisper White strip.  I snipped banners on both ends and edged it with my Call Me Clover Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere it at a jaunty angle onto the tree panel.

I adhered a new Snowflake Trinket (coming 1 Nov) with a Glue Dot on the end of the banner.  With some White Baker’s Twine leftover from my Sincerely Santa Project Kit, I tied a bow from two lengths of the twine and adhered it with another (squished up) Glue Dot.  And that was it for the card front!

On the inside, I added a Whisper White panel with a second Snow Is Glistening sentiment in Poppy Parade and surrounded it with some Call Me Clover snowflakes.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into my Garden Green card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Snow Is Glistening snowflakes on the front…

…and the envelope flap got more Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP.

Et Voila!  I love this Snow is Glistening stamp set!  And the matching Snowfall Thinlits (which I didn’t use on this card!).  And I hope you’re counting the days until you can get all the parts for yourself!  November!  From 1 – 30.  That’s it!  After that?  GONE, baby!

So…be ready!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I don’t know if y’all realize this, but…Sasquatch is a real dude (or dude-ette.  There are definitely dude-ette’s, cuz there are apparently infants and toddlers, so…).

Seriously.  And they hang out in Colorado.

I know this because there’s an entire museum and research center dedicated to them down in Bailey.

And it includes a huge wall map of Colorado with pins stuck where folks have seen him/he/them, heard him/her/them, or stumbled upon one of their apartment complexes.

Three pins are near my Mom’s house. 😳

We explored the museum and took the sanctioned photos.

Beware – these are a little frightening…

At first we thought he was being kept outside by this sturdy window.

So we felt pretty safe taking a picture or two in this secluded forest opening.

But then…we realized….

HE WAS RIGHT BEHIND US!!!

I know.  Pretty scary stuff.

My apologies for any heart palpitations resulting from this post!

  1. OOOH! Bet you were scared stiff!
And Karen called me the queen of conifers! I like the way you used the trees DSP as a background for your focal tree. Lovely card. Great colors too! 🙂

    Nice card!
I, too, thought it would be a very long time to have you here…from this morning’s vantage point…pretty quickly done. Trying to ‘think about that tomorrow’.

  3. What a pretty card! Love your snowflake tree image and the clean design is perfect! As for the big foot museum…interesting for sure! Who knew that there was such a place and that people would actually pay to go there??? 🙂

AND – bring their personal observations and research in! Yup – it’s a thing! Thanks so much Amy! 🙂
