Stampin’ Up! Signs of Santa’s Workshop

Happy Happy Hawwmp day, y’all!  Today we’re headed into town for a bit – and part of our day’s agenda is to meet a couple of customer/friends for lunch while we’re in town!  I’m very much looking forward to meeting them! 🙂

In the meantime, I’ve made a quick little card for you using the new Signs of Santa stamp set and matching Santa’s Signpost Framelits.  Take a look-see:

This layout comes from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.

I started by adhering a piece of Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP to a piece of Poppy Parade card stock for the card front.

Next I used my Paper Snips to bannerize both ends of a strip of Sparkle Glimmer Paper, then adhered it with some Liquid Glue.  Around that I wrapped some of the Garden Green Satin Ribbon I had leftover from the Sincerely Santa Project Kit, securing it in the back with Glue Dots.

I stamped the Santa’s Workshop sentiment in Garden Green on Whisper White and cut it out with the Christmas Traditions punch (which is found in the Christmas Traditions Punch Box in the Holiday Catalog!).  I used my Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker to make faux stitches around and adhered it with Liquid Glue.

Using my Stamparatus (to get a good solid image), I stamped the Santa from the Santa’s Workshop stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Whisper White, and cut it with the matching die in the Signs of Santa Framelits.

I colored Santa with my Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends – and colored his buckle with the Dark Mango Melody Blend.  Than I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop him onto the card front.

I used several snowflakes and a bow shape from the Santa’s Workshop Enamel Shapes to finish off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Santa’s Workshop sentiment in Garden Green on a Whisper White panel. Next to the sentiment I stamped a stack of gifts in Tuxedo Black and colored them with my Poppy Parade Blends and Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into a Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another stack of presents on the front…

…and I added more of the Santa’s Workshop Specialty DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila! Poppy Parade and Garden Green come together beautifully with the Santa’s Worship suite of goodies!  Hope you like!

You can still pick up all these goodies – and more! – in my Santa’s Workshop Special Bundle.  Check it out right here!

Finn Fan Fix

On Monday evening, after a really good dinner in town (Bailey is a nice little town a few miles from my Mom’s place), we sort of re-created Girl Scout camp in the living room.

Okay – there were no s’mores, but we’d shared a piece of Triple Chocolate Cake as big as Finn’s head at dinner!

Sally had – at our request – brought her guitar up with her.

As she picked the first chord and began to sing, I was transported back 30 some-odd years to those campfire nights.  As with those times, I didn’t know all of the words – but when she sang the ones I remembered and I sang along with her…wow.

We’re both older.  Hopefully a little wiser.  But…in our hearts – we’re still Bak and Pegasus.  Those goofy riding counselors up at the barn – who were often found at the corral, riding their favorite horses after dinner.  Bareback with nothing but halters on (the horses – not us! – hello?!?) – cuz we were immortal, don’t you know!?  Or barreling back up the highway after seeing a Star Trek movie in Boulder, trying to get back in time to feed on a Saturday night.

It’s hard to imagine that so many years have passed.

  2. Rosalie

O Mary, it warms my heart over here in Australia to hear you talk of camp fire nights, as I was a leader of Brownies for 36 years and remember those favourite songs we sang. Thanks for your inspirational card and the tip re the punch, never thought of using that. My Guide name was Brown Owl when I was
reached the required age before that Tawny owl. Glad you are having some special time with your friend.

    • stampsnlingers

Those are wonderful memories, aren’t they? Glad I could spark them for you, Rosalie – thanks so much! 🙂

  3. Ah, nostalgia! Where does the time go anyway??
Cute card. Not my style of Christmas card, but darn cute anyway.

Thanks, Julie! I don’t know. I really truly don’t. How the heck did we get to be in our 50’s?!? 😳😳😳

Super cute card! I love the Poppy Parade with the Garden Green! What wonderful memories you have as camp councilor – my youngest daughter LOVED horse camp – she attended every summer for ten years. I even attended a few mother/daughter weekends with her in the fall – the chuck wagon breakfasts were to die for!!😋

    • stampsnlingers

Mmmm. Chuck wagon breakfasts sound pretty darned awesome! We had a great time for two wonderful summers! 🙂

I, too, was transported…Chinook again…55 yrs ago though. All the counselor and camp nurse years. Chinook still, at heart. Oh how lovely was the evening…🎶

How do you haul all that SU stuff with you when you travel by plane? It just amazes me what you have with you to create! I understand when you rent a car & drive but via air? Have a great time……..love the creations.

    • stampsnlingers

Well – I take two suitcases and pack very judiciously! This was a pretty short trip – I only brought about 10 stamp and die sets! And my Ott lites. Gotta have those. Thank goodness my Mom has a Big Shot! Thanks much, Karen – and yes. Sally IS that BFF. It’s like we’re never apart! 🙂
