Stampin’ Up! Happiness Surrounds Sneak Peek!

Mornin’, my peeps – hope you’re having a great week!  It’s gorgeous – again!  – here in Colorado – although…it was like…13F when I got up this morning.  Which is approximately 50F too cold for this girl! 😉

My card today is from the soon-to-be-available Happiness Surrounds stamp set.  This is a set in the Snowflake Showcase suite coming in November.  It’s only going to be available for a limited time – so be ready to snag it up on 1 Nov.  I paired it with some more pumpkin-y goodness from the Toil & Trouble DSP.  Take a look-see:

So the layout for this one is from this week’s MFT Wednesday Card Challenge:

And the colors are – loosely! – from The Paper Players.  I didn’t bring a piece of card stock, an ink pad, or a marker of any sort in Crushed Curry.  So….I substituted Mango Melody.  Mea Culpa! 😉

I started with the aforementioned piece of Mango Melody card stock as the basis for the card front.  I cut a piece of Toil & Trouble DSP to my “normal” size (3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″) and then cut it into 6 panels.  They’re pretty close to being the same size – each is roughly 1 5/8″ x 1 7/8″.  I used Liquid Glue to eyeball them and adhered them to the Mango Melody panel.

See the doily?  That little beauty was leftover from the Sincerely Santa Project Kit I showed you yesterday (see it here if you missed i!)!  Yep – SU! gives you some extras and I actually did NOT make any mistakes! Whaaaaa!??  So I had a couple leftover!

With the sweet little flower-dy circle image from Happiness Surrounds (that’s one of the new sets coming on 1 Nov) I stamped the doily in Mossy Meadow – then I re-inked in Mango Melody and stamped it a second time.  Then I adhered that doily to the card front with some Liquid Glue.

I cut four branches of berries with the die in the Frosted Bouquet Framelits – two from Mango Melody and two from Cajun Craze – and adhered them ever-so-creatively to the doily.

The sentiment, also from Happiness Surrounds, is stamped on a little strip of Whisper White in Cajun Craze.  I snipped a banner end and popped it on with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I added a heart shaped Corrugated Element with Liquid Glue, then used Glue Dots to adhere a Linen Thread double-loop Billie-bow and a simple bow from Mossy Meadow Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine.  I added a white round dot from the Santa’s Workshop Enamel Shapes and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added a second sentiment from Happiness Surrounds in Cajun Craze on a Whisper White panel.  Next to it, I stamped the flower circle in Mossy Meadow and Mango Melody.  I inked just a few of the leaves for each stamped image (this is a photopolymer set – so it’s easy-peasy!).  I added another of the Santa’s Workshop Enamel Elements in the middle of the “flower”.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mango Melody mat and into my Mossy Meadow card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another “flower” on the front – including an Enamel shape…

…and some more pumpkin Toil & Trouble DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Love the Happiness Surrounds set – it’s got wonderful sentiments and images in it – perfect for so many occasions!

I hope you like – and are marking the days until you can get these goodies for yourself!

Finn Fan Fix

As advertised, my friend arrived on Monday afternoon – and we immediately sat down – so we could both get a little work done (me blogging and Sally grading papers – she’s an online teacher – which appears to be VERY hard work…that career choice is definitely not for me, y’all!!).  So – since I’m camera happy, I took a little pic…

Okay – so I’m camera HAPPY – not so much camera CAPABLE! 😉

Clara mentioned she wanted in on the picture taking and that she was ready for her close-up!

She got really excited by all the commotion.  We could hardly get her to calm down….

  1. What a beautiful card Mary! Love the fall colors and your layering under the sentiment is perfect! Great design! Great picture of you two too! Enjoy your visit! 🙂

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, Amy! We three are having a great visit! 🙂

  2. Ah, that Clara…I think she’s related to Finn somehow 🙂 I will be CASEing your card. I have yet to open the dies from that set yet and I think it’s about time. Thanks for the inspiration. I think MM is pretty darn close to CC so I’m sure the PP’s will give you a break. Our granddaughter goes to art college on line and she said it is really tough AND expensive.

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – Sally is working hard already this morning and it’s only 0630 here! Teaching is hard anyway…but at least she’s getting to do it in her jammies! Thanks so much, Karen! And yes – I was able to follow MM – CC and PP! 😉

  3. So, when will Finn and Clara get to meet?? That will be fun! I doubt Clara will like his exuberance!
Your card is lovely and the Mango Melody is a good substitute for the Crushed Curry. At first I couldn’t see the flower on the doily until I saw it on the inside, then I could see it. That berry branch is my ‘go-to’ piece for layering, or collaging, or whatever.

    • stampsnlingers

Yep – that die is one of my very favorites! I love it! Not sure if they’ll get a chance to meet – only if we bring him here. And…she won’t like him, that’s a sure thing. WAAAY too much BOUNCE! Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  4. Kate

    Perky punkins. Cool!
Love seeing you girls together…MOST especially in MY space.

  5. Susan K

You know exactly how to layer for the best effect. What a gorgeous card. Enjoy your visit. Maybe Clara will calm down soon! 🐶

    • stampsnlingers

      I know. She’s a veritable whirling dervish! 😉 Thanks, Susan! 🙂

  6. What a gorgeous fall creation…I love the addition of the little sprigs in the center! And I didn’t get that DSP but now I am wishing I did…awesome punkins! Thanks for playing with our color challenge this week at the Paper Players, Mary!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks so much, LeAnne – appreciate you stopping by! 🙂

  7. Eliz Stewart

Mary… I seriously thought you had colored those pumpkins… I can’t believe it was patterned paper. So love how you used it… just fabulous! Thanks so much for joining us this week at The Paper Players!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks very much, Eliz! Appreciate you stopping by! 🙂
