Stampin’ Up! Making Christmas Bright Holiday Sneak Peek

Good morning, y’all – back at it in California!  Hope your week is fixin’ to be good!

If you joined me last night for my Facebook Live video – which was a bit all over the place! – I appreciate it!  I shared a few of the new 2018 Holiday goodies that we got on the cruise last week.  If you didn’t watch – and want to – here’s the link to it on YouTube!

I didn’t make a card on the video – but did give a little sneak peek of the one I have for you today.  It uses a new stamp set Bundle in the Holiday Catalog (available to customers on 5 Sept – or to demonstrators on Wednesday!) called Making Christmas Bright.  It’s got a great photopolymer stamp set and matching Bulb Builder Punch.  And I also used a new die set called the Merry Christmas Thinlits.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.

I started with a piece of DSP from the All Is Bright DSP (new 2018 Holiday Catalog offering) and, using the light-string image from the new Making Christmas Bright stamp set, I stamped all over the panel in Call Me Clover ink.  Then I adhered it to a Pineapple Punch mat with Liquid Glue.

For the middle square, I used a piece of Whisper White and stamped it several times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink with the same light-bulb image.  Then I colored the lights with my Real Red, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Write Markers.

I matted the square on Pineapple Punch and then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment from Making Christmas Bright in Call Me Clover on Whisper White and added the wreath image in Pineapple Punch.  Then I punched it with the Starburst Punch.  While I had the punch handy, I punched a Pineapple Punch mat.  How the heck many times did I just type “punch”!??! 😉

I adhered the sentiment to the mat – a little offset – with Liquid Glue and added it to the card front.

With the uber-cool die in the new Merry Christmas Thinlits, I cut the word “Merry” three times in Real Red.  Then I stacked them up with Liquid Glue and adhered them to the card front.

I added a little silver Twinkle Adhesive-Backed Sequin to the sentiment and the card front was done.

On the inside, I added a few more images from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set in Real Red, Call Me Clover, Pineapple Punch and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink to a Whisper White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Pineapple Punch mat and into my Call Me Clover card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got some more light-bulb strands across the front…

…and a little more All Is Bright DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Making Christmas Bright bundle and Merry Christmas Thinlits are just the first of some totally wonderful new goodies that you’ll be able to get for yourself on 5 Sept!  Or…you can join the team right now (like before the end of the month!) – and get those free 10 Extra Stamp Pads – and then order any and everything from the Holiday Catalog on 1 August.  With a 20% discount.

Just sayin’… 🙂

Seriously – I’d love to have you join my team – as a business or as a hobbyist!  And this is a super good time to do it!!

SALES TAX HOLIDAYS (US ONLY)

If you love holidays—and don’t love taxes—we have some great news for you! Twelve U.S. states will have sales tax holidays for school supplies over the next several weeks. The dates for each state’s sales tax holiday will vary; the definition of “school supplies” will also vary from state to state. Fortunately, a selection of Stampin’ Up! products qualify as school supplies and will be tax-free during each state’s sales tax holiday period. (Sales tax holidays may not apply to additional county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.) Make sure to take advantage of the savings!

To find out which states are participating—and which products will be tax-free for each state—download this Sales Tax Holiday PDF.

Important Note: Orders must be placed with Stampin’ Up! during the sales tax holiday period to receive these select items tax free; each period begins—and ends—at midnight (MT).

No FFF’s for a minute – cuz…once again, I’m here and he’s home with his Dad!

So – thought I’d share some pics from the Buchart Gardens we saw on Victoria last week!  Mrs. Buchart built these gardens from a defunct gravel pit!  Amaze-balls!!

Hi Mary, Thank you for sharing all these goodies with us… some fabulous items… I do not envy you those 12 hr days… I worked 14/16 hr days in a high stress job for what seemed like all of my career… retired now for 18 mos and loving it…..I don’t think you should worry about doing a video next week… you need some rest…

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks Bernice – and happy you’re retired and relaxing now!! Thanks – I may well not be able to do a video no matter how much I might want to!! 🙂

  4. Mary

The flowers are so beautiful, thank you so much for sharing.

  5. Love your happy holiday card with NEW stuff! Your trip looked amazing as are those flowers! So glad you had a great time!

  6. She didn’t do it alone!! But, she was the one with the vision. They are beautiful aren’t they??
Pretty card too. My apologies for not seeing your video last night. For starters, I didn’t think you were doing one, and anyway, I wasn’t home! 🙂 Sorry I missed it, but I did download the pdf and have my wish list/order ready to go tomorrow.

    • stampsnlingers

I know she didn’t do it all alone – but she surely planted a bunch herself. WAAY after I’d have been so over it! Yes – it was absolutely spectacular! I’ve got my list ready for Wednesday, too! 🙂

  7. And why can’t I see the comments any more?? If you are working 12 hour days 7 in a row, we will survive without a card every day or a video on Sunday. don’t want you sick too.
I know about MAN flu….my Mom always said, “if a man gets sick, he thinks he is dying. That’s why women have the babies. Men couldn’t handle it.”

    • stampsnlingers

I was juts happy it didn’t progress to the nearly-always-fatal Man-ingitis!! 😉 I’ve been slow in answering/approving comments – will get better and you’ll be able to see them quicker! Thanks, Julie! 🙂

  8. What a beautiful Christmas card! Love the colours and the pop of yellow! So fun! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!

What a lovely card! I definitely have a thing for loopy strings of Christmas lights, so this will be on my list for shur. How nice you’re back with us here in SoCal to enjoy our blast-furnace weather. If you decide to run away, let me know and I’ll go with you!

    • stampsnlingers

  10. DELPHIA K. MCBRIDE

Little late watching but enjoyed the sneak peeks probably a little too much!! Love all the cards you showed and esp. this one. good luck with the 12 hour shifts, I did them as a nurse but my limit was 4-5 shifts (night shift) with at least one day off that was full of just sleeping. Don’t worry about posting cards just let us know u r ok. get plenty of rest because that job pays real income and real income buys food and necessities. Hopefully a good long break will follow and a crafting you shall go.!! TFS
    Hugs
    Kay

Thanks, Kay! I’m keeping up (sort of! 🙂 ) and will keep plugging along. Yes – this is the job that buys the necessities (like paper and stamps and ink…) 🙂 Thanks! 🙂
