Stampin’ Up! Springtime Stroll Impossible Card

Hey y’all!  Happy Monday!

Or…something like that. 🙂

If you were able to join me last night for my Facebook Live video, I appreciate you spending part of your Mother’s Day with me!  If not – here’s a replay of the video.  We made an “Impossible” card and it’s waaay easier to SEE how to do it than for me to try to TELL you!  So…check it!

If you watch the video, you’ll notice that I used different colors and a different design of the Garden Impressions DSP.  Both use the Host-Exclusive stamp set called Springtime Stroll.  Take a look-see at the card I gave you a sneak peak of this morning!

I started my quest to learn how to make these cards by watching a couple of videos from fellow crafters.  I took some ideas and tips from each.  Here are links to Jan Brown’s and MayMay’s videos – please give them a look-see!

As promised on my video, here is the template for the card base.  This particular one started with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Mango Madness base.

Here’s the trick to make these in any size:  Score the long direction at 1/2 way down the short side of the card base.  Then score down from the long side – 1/2 way – just down to your first score line.  So – the first score on this A2 card is at 2 1/8″ (half of 4 1/4″) and the second is at 2 3/4″ down the long side (half of 5 1/2″).

Cut the scores and twist as in the video.

I made mats for the card from the Garden Impressions DSP.

I made each of the mats using this template.

Tip: until you get comfortable with this card style – use non-direction-specific DSP!  It’s just easier!

I made the sentiments using the host-exclusive Springtime Stroll stamp set, in Shaded Spruce ink.  For the little flowers, I colored the stamp images with my Petal Pink. Grapefruit Grove and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Write Markers.

The butterfly is stamped on the large sentiment panel in Blueberry Bushel ink.  I stamped it a second time on a different Garden Impressions DSP pattern and fussy cut him (not the antenna – I just snipped them right off!).  I used a scrunched-up Glue Dot to adhere the butterfly and added a Share What You Love Artisan Pearl to the middle of his body.

I used Liquid Glue to mat up the smaller sentiment on Garden Impression DSP and Mango Madness mats and then to adhere them to the card – do check the video to see how to do this, okay? 🙂

I added another Share What You Love Artisan Pearl to the sentiment and the card was done!

Not so impossible, huh?

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Springtime Stroll flowers and butterfly on the front…

…and I added more of the Garden Impressions DSP to the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  This is a fun little fold to make, y’all – and you can sure decorate it however you like!  I hope you’ll give it a try – and have fun with it.

The Springtime Stroll is an adorable Host-Exclusive stamp set that’ll be available to customers on 1 June!  As will the beautiful Garden Impressions DSP!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

One of the main goals of Saturday’s visit to Dr. Amanda was to get clearance to go to Puppy Tubs Puppy Camp AND to have a playdate with his sister.

He got clearance for BOTH! 🙂

And – when asked if he was happy to hear the news and wanted to go to Puppy Tubs…

Here was his response…

Classic Finn-lips! 🙂

How could anyone resist that face!?!
