Happy Saturday, my peeps! Hope your weekend is shaping up to be fun! It’s Cinco de Mayo AND Derby Day! Guess you’ll need to put some guacamole on your Hot Brown, huh?? And wash it all down with a Mint Jule-e-rita! 🙂
I feel a little bad bringing you a card that you can’t really make yet – unless you’re a demonstrator and you snapped these up in your pre-order! But – I did it anyway! My box came today – don’t worry, I’ll show you all the goodies on Sunday evening – and I just had to pull out a couple of things I’d really been waiting for! One – the Abstract Impressions bundle…and the coordinating (and seriously gorgeous!!) Garden Impressions DSP. And the second is the Pressed Flowers Host-Exclusive stamp set. Take a look-see:
You can see some new colors, too, can’t you?
Take a look at the Abstract Impressions bundle and Pressed Flowers stamp set.
My layout comes from the fun little sketch at the Paper Craft Crew this week.
I started with a piece of Wood Textures DSP (thankfully carrying over!!) for the card front. With Versamark Ink, I stamped several images from the Pressed Flowers stamp set (avail 1 Jun) and heat embossed them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I matted the panel on a piece of new Shaded Spruce card stock (available 1 June) using Liquid Glue.
The ribbon you see is Shaded Spruce 1/8″ Ribbon from the new Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack (yep – 1 June) adhered with a few Glue Dots in a loose loop-d-loop.
With the large and lovely die from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits, I cut a Soft Sea Foam butterfly and adhered it to a piece of the gorgeously gorgeous paper in the Garden Impressions DSP with Liquid Glue. Then I fussy cut around it.
I adhered some Occasions-Catalog Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes to the body of the butterfly, then popped him over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the Abstract Impressions sentiment in Shaded Spruce ink on a strip of Soft Sea Foam card stock and snipped the ends into banners. Then I popped it over the butterfly with Dimensionals.
I added some more of the Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes to the Wood Textures DSP and a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the sentiment strip and the card front was done!
On the inside, I used one of the lovely flowers from the Pressed Flowers set and inked it with Shaded Spruce. I stamped it off twice and then stamped it in the middle of a Whisper White panel. A second Abstract Impressions sentiment in full-strength Shaded Spruce is stamped over the flower. I added a final Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shape to the middle of one of the flowers.
I adhered the panel to a Shaded Spruce mat and into my Pacific Point card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Whisper White Medium Envelope got several more Pressed Flowers images in Shaded Spruce – I stamped a few times without re-inking – on the front…
…and I added a little more of the Garden Impressions DSP to the envelope flap.
Et Voila! You can see how beautiful the Garden Impressions DSP paper is, can’t you?? Let me tell you – that pack is chock-a-block full of lovely impressionistic designs. The creators at SU! have outdone themselves with the paper, y’all! And – look at that Springtime Impressions Thinlits butterfly! Seriously?! I think Pressed Flowers (Host-exclusive!) is going to be a super-popular stamp set, too. Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix
The Finn-ster and I did a little gardening today! Need to do more weeding, but…it is what it is! The greens and beets and turnips and radishes are going gang-busters!
The more important thing is…
…TWELVE Ancho Magnifico pepper plants and the Sweetheart Tomato plant went in today! Whoo-hooo! It’s a sure sign of summer, y’all!
It was pretty warm here today – and gardening is hard work.
Some post-gardening dog-chillaxation was necessary!

Hi Mary! I wanted to let you know how much I’m enjoying all of the cards, tips, and techniques you share. I started following you about 3 weeks ago when I saw your easel fold card (I believe on Pinterest?). I loved making the card and have made 3 others! Thanks for all of your sharing! P.S.-your Finn is such a cutie!
Thanks so much, Pam – glad that you found me and appreciate you following my blog! Love those easel cards, don’t you?? And thanks – he’s as sweet as he is cute!! 🙂
That’s quite a pile up in that corner…but it’s no accident that it turned out beautifully (see what I did there?) I ordered the framelits Tuesday morning but my order is still picking 🙁 I don’t have the expedited button on my laptop like you and Amy! Your gardens look great and Finny is perfect.
LOL! I DO see what you did there!! Your goodies will get there soon, I know! Thanks much, Karen! 🙂
What a beautiful card Mary! Love that butterfly and your stamping under it on the woodgrain panel. Perfectly created! 🙂
Thanks, Amy – that butterfly is gorgeous, isn’t it!? Love that new set!! 🙂
Mary, I always look forward to seeing your raised bed gardening photos! Thanks for sharing. Also thanks for sharing all those new stamps sets …. those two sets look yummy …. in fact I even stopped to gaze in admiration at the sets and your beautiful card before skipping down to check on Mr. Finn. So happy to learn that the Wood Textures dsp is returning!!
LOL! Glad they held your attention for a minute before you headed down to see Finn! Thanks – and I’m glad you enjoy the gardening pics – it tickles me when I can actually make something GROW – so I love to share that! 🙂
Morning Mary,
1. Card is lovely.
2. Finn is looking sharp.
AND
3. LOVING THE RAISED BEDS!!!!
Your husband build those???
Stunning!!! AND oh so practical!
You are growing stuff in GA and I’m afraid to plant 2 flats of stinky marigolds in case I need to bring them in at night.
Have a good weekend.
Yep – one advantage of the south is it gets warm early! And that’s also a disadvantage – cuz the bugs get back early, too! 🙂 Thanks so much – and yes, my husband built the beds! He’s handy that way! 🙂
Your card is beautiful. I love the butterfly and the G Impression paper behind it. Can’t wait to see what you do with the corner die in that set. Poor Finn–tuckered out. Your garden beds are awesome!
Yep – gardening is exhausting work! He spends a lot of time making sure the borer bees don’t get anywhere close! 🙂 Thanks so much, Susan – I’m looking forward to playing with that die, too! 🙂
That paw could only be the Finn’s. YAY YAY YAY!!!
True that! Classic Finn! Thanks, Mom! 🙂
You know Mary I’m going to have come out of retirement and get a job, everything you show I want! Love the card and cant wait for tomorrow evening to get here so I can see all your new goodies! Lol Love your planter beds they are awesome! My Grandfather was Blacksmith back in the day and these are something he would have made. I have horse shoes from the 1920’s that he made. A very gifted man 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your day and see you tomorrow evening. Finn is looking good there Mom 🙂
You know, not for nothing, I can help you get a 20-25% discount on everything you want! AND – I can get you $125 worth of new product for $99 – with FREE SHIPPING, Kathy! Just sayin’! An awfully long list was the very reason that I joined SU! – and you can, too!! 🙂
Our shoer brings his old shoes to us. As a result, we have bags, boxes and bins of shoes waiting to be made into something! I think it’s so cool that your grandfather actually MADE shoes – that’s kind of a lost art!! Glad you like the gardens – they’re pretty cool (and such back savers!!). 🙂
Mary, Another great card, as always!! Glad the DSP is staying around for another year!!! SO happy to see your Finn just napping and relaxing at the window. Give him a hug for me, he is a real cutie!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Thanks, Denise – these are gorgeous new sets, for sure! And I was so happy about the Wood Textures DSP – I think it needs to be a permanent addition! 😉 Consider him hugged for you! 🙂
