Stampin’ Up! Tranquil Tulips Happy Day!

Well.  Here we are again.  On Friday.  I don’t know whether to give a big “whoo-hoo” or…worry that I’ll wake up and be 90 tomorrow!  I mean…time is sorta flying by!

Heck – next thing we know…Sale-A-Bration will be over.  Bummer….  The Occasions Catalog will be caput.  Bummer again.

But – the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog will be making an appearance!

And I’ll be getting on a cruise ship to Alaska!

Okay.  I’ve convinced myself.

WHOOO-HOOOO!!!

But – seriously.  Don’t let Sale-A-Bration get by you, y’all – come join my team – get that crazy good discount!  Earn extra Stampin’ Rewards!  Get all the free SAB goodies!

Do Not Waste Time!

Okay.  That’s it.  On to the card for today!

It’s a super simple CAS card that I made with the pretty Host-Exclusive set called Tranquil Tulips.  And a quick sentiment from the Happy Birthday Thinlits and the Sale-A-Bration set Happy Wishes (free in Wood or Clear with a $100 purchase). Take a look-see:

For the layout, I borrowed from this week’s CAS(E) This Sketch.

And I also used the pretty inspiration photo and theme from The Paper Players.

Finally, a few of the elements are thanks to the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge this week!  Went right down the diagonal from the top left corner…

To start off, I used the two-step flower images from the host-exclusive Tranquil Tulips stamp set.  I stamped them in a collage-y fashion in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then I cut a strip of the flowers and matted it on Garden Green.

With the Happy Birthday Thinlit die, I cut the sentiment from Gold Glimmer Paper and snipped the two words apart.

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to align and stamp two of the sentiments from the Happy Wishes Sale-A-Bration stamp set in Garden Green.  I laid out my matted strip and sentiment to be sure I was getting each sentiment in the right spot!

I adhered the flower strip to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Then I wrapped a length of Whisper White 1/4″ Organza Ribbon around the panel, securing it in the back with some Fast Fuse.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the glimmery sentiment.  Then I tied a little bow with the Organza ribbon and adhered it with a Glue Dot.  Finally, I added a gold Metallic Enamel Shape and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added more Cherry Cobbler Tranquil Tulips across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  For these, I also stamped some stems in Garden Green.

I Fast Fuse’d the panel to a Garden Green mat and into my Cherry Cobbler card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got a couple more Tranquil Tulips on the front…

…and another set on the back!

Et Voila!  Super simple.  Super easy.  Super pretty!  Love the Tranquil Tulips and (free!) Happy Wishes stamp sets – and the Happy Birthday Thinlits are a real favorite of mine!  I even keep a stash of them to send to my team members as little gifts!  Yes – I love them that much!  Hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

I have a bit of a glamor shot for you today.

What?  You don’t think dog-models carry their collar around with them?

Huh.

Well, this one does!

Don’t judge.

  1. and yet another amazing side of Mary! Your card is striking! The colors, stamping and CAS layout are wundebar! I think I’m going to need to invest in a thesaurus so I have more words to describe your talent. LOVE this!! Finn IS quite the model. No muddiness in that pic!

  2. What a pretty card Mary! Love the colors and the touch of sparkle with your sentiment is perfect. 🙂

  3. Kate

Can readily imagine the smile your card would evoke. It is NICE!
Collar carrying sorta goofy, but handsome is as handsome does.

  4. Maryanne Willequer

And you called your card ‘simple’! What a beauty. I can’t wait to try something similar myself. Love that beautiful dog, too!

    • Oh but it was! Simple to make – big impact!! Perfect kind of card, yes?? Thank you so much, Maryanne! And yes – I think he’s pretty handsome, too! 🙂

  5. Annie A.

Just beautiful – inside and out! Love those layered tulips! They are so realistic looking and your card definitely is perfectly “spring-ey” for our challenge. Thanks for sharing over at The Paper Players this week!

  6. Very pretty, Mary! Those tulips make such a nice background as well as a little extra for stamping inside your card! Thanks for playing and sharing this with us this week at the Players!

  7. Susan K

I love tulips and those are certainly pretty, even on the envelope. Finn cleans up nicely.

    • Yep – he’s a little like teflon. One second there’s dirt and stuff all over him and then…it’s just gone! Thanks much, Susan! 🙂

  8. Another gorgeous card! A-MAZ-ING! Wish I’d thought of that. Great colors, too. I especially like what you did on the flap this time. Gotta love tulips!
And what a model HE is, even if he does hold on to his own collar.

    • Ever watched Zoolander?? He’s kinda like that sometimes! 😉 Thanks much, Julie – appreciate the kind words! 🙂

  9. Wonderful take on the sketch!

  10. I love how you used the elements from the TIc Tac Toe CHallenge in your card! So pretty (and sparkly)! Thanks for playing along with the TTTC this week!
