Stampin’ Up! Botanical Easter Message

Mornin’, y’all and Happy Hawmmp Day!!  Hope your week is going well!

We’re nearing the end of Sale-A-Bration.  Don’t miss out on the goodies you’ve been wanting, nor the opportunity to join my team and get up to $200 worth of product for just $99!  With no obligation whatsoever!

Just sayin….

My card for today is looking forward a few weeks to Easter, to give you time to realize you need this stamp set!  It’s the Easter Message set, and it’s gorgeous, especially combined with some Botanical Builder flowers and Falling in Love DSP.  Take a look-see

I used the Sunday Stamps Challenge for my layout.

I started out by SNAILing a piece of Falling in Love DSP to a Sweet Sugarplum mat.  Then I wrapped some Linen Thread around the card front a few times, securing it in the back with scotch tape.

For the banner, I used a piece of Whisper White card stock and cut a banner end in it with my Paper Snips.  I added some Crumb Cake “stitches” around the banner with a Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then, using the frond image in the Easter Message stamp set, I stamped the banner all over in stamped-off-once Pear Pizzazz.  Then I popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I started the sentiment circle by cutting a Stitched Shapes circle in Whisper White.  Then, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped the sentiment from Easter Message in Sweet Sugarplum near the bottom of the circle.  Next to it, I added the Easter Lily image in Crumb Cake.

I colored the lily with my Blender Pen, using Pink Pirouette for the flower and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves and stem.

I cut a scalloped circle mat in Sweet Sugarplum using a die in the Circles Layering Framelits and adhered it to the banner with Liquid Glue

I pulled out the Botanical Builder Framelits and first cut two Pear Pizzazz fronds.  I adhered them to the banner with Liquid Glue.  Over that, I popped the sentiment circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals, offsetting it from the scalloped mat.

I made some flowers out of Whisper White card stock with the dies from the Botanical Builder.  All of them got a little light sponging with Pink Pirouette.  And I lightly rounded two of the flowers.  Then I used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the banner and card front.

I gave each flower a Pink Pirouette Enamel Shape, then added a tiny Linen Thread bow with a dab of Liquid Glue.  To finish it off, I added a small row of tiny Pearl Basic Embellishments under the sentiment and one in each lily, and the card front was done.

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position the Cross from the Easter Message set.  I stamped it in the middle of a Whisper White panel, stamping it off once, first.  Over that, again with the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I added the sentiment in Sweet Sugarplum.

I SNAILd the panel to a Sweet Sugarplum mat and into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got another Easter Message lily on the front, colored the same as the one on the front of the card…

…and I gave the envelope flap more of the stamped-off-once Pear Pizzazz fronds.

Et Voila!  I think this is such a pretty stamp set, with a simply perfect sentiment.  And the images are simple and sweet and…perfect, too.  Hope you like!

FINN-FAN FIX….

It rained over night and this morning.  So it was wet – and colder than a well-diggers lunch bucker this morning.  Finn and I did a couple of laps and then I just flat had to go in the tack room to warm up.

Finn was – as you might imagine – a little damp.

As in… his skirt (that’s what I call his hangy-down belly fur) and his pantaloons were dripping wet and sporting a fine coat of mud.

So when I sat down in the chair to warm up while we waited for the horses to finish eating…my interest in some lap time was pretty low.

He used all his Finn-Charm on me.  Played the guilt card pretty well.  I managed to hang tough, but….it was hard.

When we finally got into the house, he was apparently exhausted by the effort.

Cold and rainy day.  Full belly.  Denied lap time.  What else is a guy to do?!?

  1. Oh wow Mary, your card is stunning! The colors are just perfect and so is your design! Thanks for joining us at Sunday Stamps, hope to see you again soon! 🙂

  2. Oh, Mary, I do declare this is one of the most beautiful Easter cards I have ever seen. Do I have your permission to copy it verbatim for my card group? If not, I’ll alter something but I don’t know what…I don’t want to ruin its beauty. TFS. I just love the way Finn sleeps on his back. Our cat does the same thing and it melts our hearts every time!

Oh, I LOVE THIS CARD!!! I wish I had the gumption to make several.
And a guy just has to go belly up now and again. Clara gets it…and it gets her a belly rub every time.

  5. I do love what you did with this card, wow, so pretty and super for an Easter card. The addition of the flowers from the botanical builders just make it perfect, too! Nice, nice!!

  6. RitaR

S-o-o-o beautiful and obviously made with much love! Speaking of much love, the look of adoration in Finn’s eyes shows just how much he loves his Mom ….. even if she doesn’t want him on her lap when he’s wet and muddy! LOL

    • He loves me, I hope even when I disappoint him by not going out and playing with him every single time he wants me to!! Thanks much, Rita – I was tickled (Pirouette) pink with how this one turned out! 🙂

  7. Karen L.

Beautiful card…….really! But Mary, how could you ignore that face & the look in those eyes?? We have a cat that does that “look” in the evening when he wants to snuggle up & wants a belly-rub……you just can’t ignore that look!! Hang tough!……..I’m a wimp!

    • It was so hard! But then I just ran my hand around to his belly….and it hardened my resolve!! Kitties… might not have been able to resist! Thanks so much, Karen!! 😊

  8. This card is beautiful. I love the pretty feminine design. Absolutely beautiful!.

Gorgeous Easter card! I love the way you used fronds from two different sets!! And the color combo is spot on:-). It’s amazing how they learn to work you at such a young age lol! Heading to Virginia tomorrow to visit our oldest daughter, her husband and their golden retriever – Zoe. She is a pro at the puppy dog eyes too! Thanks for the inspiration and canine comedy!
