Stampin’ Up! Make A Medallion Sneak Peek!

Happy Friday, folks!  By the time you read this – if I’ve gotten my butt outta bed – I’ll be on my way to St. Petersburg, FL – for my friend’s wedding!  Yes, the one I’ve been doing projects here and there for for the past few months.  I finally made a choice on which ones to use – and made a couple more things – that I’ll be sharing with you over the next couple of days!

I hope he knows how much I love him – I’m driving 8 hours each way.

And wearing “real” shoes.  With heels.

Okay – they’re “trouser booties” – did not know that was a thing – and the heel is only about 1 3/4″ and nice and chunky enough that I have about a 67.5% chance of not falling flat on my hindquarters!

I wanted to show you two quick pictures of Finn.  He’s growing into such a love – even more than he was just a few months ago.  I finally have the dog that wants to sleep under my craft table while I make cards.  We’ll even “miss” him in the evening and discover him there – it’s become his “spot”!

Of course, his other “spot” is pretty much wherever I am.  No matter where that is.

Not just every card-blogger is going to show you pictures of her dog in her bathroom – that she took while taking a bath!  But…he’s so danged cute!  Look at that ear!  He knows when mom gets in the tub with a book…might as well just kick back and take a nap.

Cuz we could be there for a minute!! 🙂

So – there’s your Finn-fix!

For my card today, I used some more of the new SAB Glimmer Paper Pack – and one of the new SAB stamp sets – the Make a Medallion set.

The layout was inspired by the challenge over at CAS(E) This Sketch.

cts-208
This is a quick and easy card, thanks to the crisp 2-step photopolymer images in the stamp set.

I started by stamping the “main” image in Pool Party on a piece of Whisper White.  Then I stamped the second image in Daffodil Delight.

I added the Make a Medallion sentiment in Bermuda Bay in the middle of the image and cut it out with a die in the Circles Layering Framelits.  I used the Circles Framelits to cut a Daffodil Delight scalloped circle and SNAILd the medallion to it.

For the middle panel, I SNAILd a piece of Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper to a Daffodil Delight mat.  Then I used my 1″ Circle Punch to punch a hole in the panel right where I was going to adhere the medallion.  Remember that Glimmer Paper is notoriously hard to stick stuff to – so this is a trick to work around that!

I SNAILd the matted Glimmer Paper to my Whisper White card front.  Then I stuck a Stampin’ Dimensional in the center of the 1″ hole I’d punched and adhered the medallion to that Dimensional!

In each corner of my card front, I stamped the little “corner” image from the Make a Medallion set in Bermuda Bay.  And then…there’s a teensy – teensy little stamp (seriously – don’t let this one drop on the floor, y’all – you’ll never see it again!) and I used it to add one little Pool Party image in the very corner.  See it??

I SNAILd the card front to a Daffodil Delight mat and the card front was done!

On the inside – I used more of the same images as I’d used on the front – in the same colors.  But I stamped everything except the sentiment off once on scrap paper. The sentiment is stamped in full-strength Bermuda Bay.

I SNAILd the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Pool Party card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the corner images in Bermuda Bay and Pool Party (full strength!) on the front…

…and I added a half-a-medallion on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Easy peasy!  I love love love this Glimmer Paper!!  And the stamp set – for being so very simple – has so many possible combinations of colors….it’s going to be a real workhorse in your toolbox!  Hope you like!
