Happy Hawwmp Day From Huntsville! Made it safely after a quick stop at the dentist to replace the crown I pulled off on Sunday. Bleh! 🙁 Had my traditional first-night-in-Huntsville-Vietnamese dinner. Yum! 🙂 Did some “real” work and now…chatting with y’all! 🙂
Finn was not thrilled that I was leaving. He found the suitcase rolling down the hall to be…suspicious. And uppity! It simply would not yield to his herding prowess. Just kept going and going…
He really hated the van doors opening and being held back – he was ready to ride! 🙁
But – he got to go with his dad on some man-errands after I left, so I suspect he’s over it. 🙂
My project for today is a little note-card I made using the free Sale-A-Bration Avant Garden stamp set, and a sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set. Plus a couple other goodies. Take a look-see:
I played along with a couple of challenges on this one – the first, from Can You Case It, gave me my color scheme:
And the second was a Clean-and-Simple challenge from The Paper Players.
I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that I embossed in the Petal Burst TIEF and double mounted on Silver Foil and Perfect Plum card stock.
For the art, I stamped the flower image from Avant Garden in Island Indigo and Perfect Plum – stamping the images off once before stamping my card stock. I added a stamen to each image in the opposite color – also stamping it off first.
I cut it out with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and added the pretty sentiment from the Rose Wonder set – heat embossing it in Silver. Then, I mounted it on a Silver Foil mat cut with a scalloped oval die from the Ovals Layering Framelits.
I popped it over the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, added a few silver dots from the Metallic Enamel Shapes and the card front was done.
On the inside, I added the Avant Garden images again – but this time I stamped them off three times before stamping my Whisper White card stock.
I matted it on Silver Foil and Perfect Plum and SNAILd it into an Island Indigo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals – and the card was done!
For my envelope – which is one from the Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes set – I added the stamped-off-one-time Avant Garden images on the front…
…and I ran the envelope flap thru the Big Shot in the Petal Burst TIEF.
Et Voila! Clean. Simple. Easy. Pretty, too, I think! I love this little set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog – it has simply gorgeous images. And…uhm. Free! Hope you like!
