Stampin’ Up! Moon Baby Twinkle Star!

Good Tuesday morning to y’all!  Hope you’re having a good week so far.

Me?  I’m off in a couple of hours for a business trip to Hunstville –  back on Friday!  So I’ve been trying to get a little ahead on cards – since taking all my stuff for 3 days is…ridiculous!!

Isn’t it?

Yes.

Of course.

That would be crazy.

Speaking of crazy – my living room floor looks like a paper factory exploded in it.  Courtesy of…yes.  You got it.  The Paper Pilferer.

I think that picture pretty much says it all, don’t you?? 😉

My card for today is a study in timing!  I was sitting at my craft table yesterday afternoon when my husband’s nephew called to tell him they’d had their baby!  A little boy.  At that exact moment, I was holding the Moon Baby stamp set in my hands and all of a sudden I had an actual reason to make another baby card!  So…I pulled out some Floral Boutique DSP and the So Detailed Thinlits, and…take a look-see:

I’d also already decided on a color scheme cuz I thought the color challenge over at Just Us Girls would be just perfect for a baby card.

Now, this is in celebration of the arrival of a little boy – but if they’d had a little girl – the card design would still be just fine.  Just use pink DSP on the card front and a Night of Navy mat. 🙂

I started with a piece of Floral Boutique DSP that makes me sort of think of a night sky, and SNAILd it to a Pink Pirouette mat for the card front.  Not to worry – this little dude’s going to be very secure in his manhood.  Pink won’t be a problem! 🙂

Next up, I cut a Whisper White panel to the width of the card front (3 7/8″) and then cut out the So Detailed Thinlits die.  Onto the center – which is a really handy size for a lot of sentiments! – I stamped the Moon Baby sentiment in Night of Navy, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.

I stamped the ever-so-cute image from Moon Baby in Smoky Slate on some Whisper White card stock.  I colored the baby – using the lid of my Night of Navy ink pad lid and an Aqua Painter for his onesie…and the Melon Mambo Watercolor Pencil and a Blender Pen for his face and hands.  Using my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush I brushed the moon to give it some moonshine.  Then I fussy cut the image.

I popped the baby and moon onto the top of my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I took the little star die from the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits, and cut out a bunch of Silver Glimmer Paper stars.  I wanted to have his string be 3-dimensional, so I took a length of Night of Navy Solid Baker’s Twine and adhered the end onto his hand and used a thin line of Liquid Glue to adhere it down the card front.  At the bottom, I added one of my Silver Glimmer stars with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  I tied two eensy-weensy bows and adhered one at his hand and one at the star.

I popped my So Detailed Thinlit sentiment over the card front with Dimensionals, added the remainder of the stars with Liquid Glue – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the second Moon Baby sentiment in Night of Navy, using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.  Using the three-star image from Moon Baby, I stamped the stars over the sentiment in Smoky Slate – stamping it off once before I stamped the card.  And I added a few more Silver Glimmer stars.

I SNAILd it to a Pink Pirouette mat and into my Smoky Slate card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

I scattered a bunch of Smoky Slate Moon Baby stars across the front of a Medium Whisper White envelope…

…and gave the envelope flap some more of the Floral Boutique DSP.

Et Voila!  Seriously – how cute is this little baby sleeping so peacefully on his sliver of moon?  This set has several sweet sentiments and images – suitable for the arrival of a new tiny human or a shower for said tiny human!  Hope you like! 🙂

  2. Congrats to your family! The card is adorable…Finn is too…just look at that guilty face. Have a safe trip to Huntsville. If it’s AL, that’s where our son used to live. If it’s TX, then have a safe trip 🙂

Such a sweet card. And I like that you could easily make it for a girl by just switching the mat and dsp.
