Stampin’ Up! Sunshine Succulent Garden Sneak Peek!

Mornin’, y’all!  Well.  Here we are on the last day of 2016.  Can you even believe that?!  Pretty soon it’s going to be 2050 and we’ll all be driving around in flying cars and have robot housekeepers named Rosie (yes, they’ll all be “Rosie”).  I’m pretty sure that’s going to happen!  I saw it on the Jetsons, so…it’s a true thing.

My friend (Aunty Jan), sent me a couple of pictures of Finn’s doggie day camp from Thursday.  Turns out he was pretty enamored of a red Kong bone.  Since he’s an only child, sharing isn’t really a thing for him – the cats seldom want anything to do with his toys.  So he figured the red Kong bone was his.  All.  His.

But Jax – their 8 month old lab – thought…maybe not.  So, it took their Aunty Scout to moderate the ensuing discussion.

I wish I could have seen the next few minutes, don’t you?!? 🙂

So – my card for today is another sneak peek of the Succulent Garden Suite – but…guess what??  The sneak peeks are almost at an end – pretty soon now, y’all will be able to get all the 2017 Occasions catalog goodies for yourself!  But, for now, I used a few stamps and dies from the Oh So Succulent bundle, a little Succulent Garden DSP  – and a…surprise!  Take a look-see:

My layout was inspired by the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments:

I started with some of the fun and botanical Succulent Garden DSP, matted on Old Olive, for the card front.  The next panel is also DSP – but…it’s from the Urban Underground Specialty DSP (that’s the surprise, in case you were wondering!).  I cut the small rectangle, then used Whisper White Craft ink to stamp a few flowers from the Oh So Succulent stamp set.  Then I added the little three-dots image in between the flowers.  I matted the panel on Old Olive and popped it on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I cut a strip of Whisper White and banner-ized the end with the Banner Triple Punch.  Then I added the sentiment from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set, stamping it in Tip Top Taupe and using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it right where I wanted it.  Using my Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker, I edged the banner to make it pop a bit, and used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to stick it onto the card front. 🙂

I cut flowers from Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe card stock, using the three die sizes in the Succulent Framelits die set.  I lightly curled the smaller flowers with my Bone Folder and used little bits of Liquid Glue to adhere them to the larger flowers and then to the sentiment banner.  I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of each flower, and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used a couple of sticky note masks (which I remembered to stick back into my stamp case for the next time I need to use them!) to stamp Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe Oh So Succulent flowers across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.

Then I SNAILd the panel to an Old Olive mat and into my Tip Top Taupe card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Oh So Succulent flowers across the front…

…and another piece of Succulent Garden DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!   I love this Succulent Garden Suite of products and I know you’re going to love them, too!  And…how cool is that chalkboard paper in the Urban Garden DSP!?  Hope you like!
