Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats Suite Sneak Peek for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2
Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Happy Stampers Blog Hop!  We’ve got a sketch challenge for you today and, being that we’re less than a week out from Christmas, I’d bet we get some Christmas cards!  Be sure to check out everyone’s projects, okay?

Here’s the sketch…

Now – regardless of the proximity of Christmas, I did a Birthday Card – using the new Cool Treats suite in the 2017 Occasions catalog.  Take a look-see:

I started by making a background for my card front, cuz…yea – I haven’t bought the Tasty Treats Specialty DSP!  So had to make my own.  I started with a Whisper White panel and stamped the two sprinkles images from the Cool Treats stamp set in Watermelon Wonder, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Tempting Turquoise.  Then I double matted the panel on Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder.

The middle panel is just a piece of Whisper White, with the addition of two strips of the Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape on two corners.  I stamped the Cool Treats sentiment in Tempting Turquoise, matted the panel on a piece of Peekaboo Peach and SNAILd it to the card front.

My circle decoration is a stack from a scalloped edge circle of Watermelon Wonder and a straight edge circle of Peekaboo Peach.  Both were cut with the Layering Circles Framelits.  Finally, I adhered a new Lace Doily with the white side up, using some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Then it was time to make some ice cream!  I cut everything with the Frozen Treats Framelits dies – which you’ll be able to get bundled with the Cool Treats stamp set and save yourself 10%!  My ice cream scoops are cut from Tempting Turquoise (blueberry??), Watermelon Wonder and Peekaboo Peach.  Then I cut some hot fudge because….fudge!…from Chocolate Chip card stock and adhered it to the ice cream scoops with Liquid Glue.  This framelits set is so fun – it even has a little die to cut sprinkles – so I did – in the same colors as the ice cream.  I adhered each little sprinkle with Liquid Glue.

For the bowl – I laid several strips of Crumb Cake Washi Tape on Whisper White (remember – no DSP!) – and cut the bowl shape with the framelit.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere my fudged-up ice cream behind the bowl and then popped the sundae onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a Cool Treats cherry in Real Red on Whisper White and cut it with the Frozen Treats Framelits cherry die – then I used my Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the stem and stuck it on top (where a cherry belongs!).  Finally, and I cut a teensy spoon from Silver Foil and stuck it in the bowl.

To finish the front off, I stamped a Real Red strawberry and cut it with its Framelit – which also punches tiny holes to make “seeds”!  I added some leaves with my Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker.

For the inside, I added another sentiment in Tempting Turquoise on a Whisper White panel.  Then I added more sprinkles – cuz there’s never too many!

I double matted the panel on Peekaboo Peach and Watermelon Wonder, then SNAILd it into my Whisper White card base.  The card front is popped on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that was it for the card.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Tasty Treats Designer Washi Tape across the front…

…and more Cool Treats sprinkles on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Bright, cheery and yummy.  Those words really tell the story of the Cool Treats Suite in the new Occasions catalog.  Hope you like! 🙂
