Stampin’ Up! Snow Place Family Photobomb!

Mornin’, y’all!  I’ve got a so-fun card to share with you this morning – but first…

Saturday was horse feed day.  We had to replenish our store of grain and hay.  Mr. Finn went along with Wayne to get the hay so that I could get feed in peace.  I told Wayne to keep a close eye – I figured once the hay man saw my cute boy….he’d probably try to spirit him away and hide him.  And keep him forever!  So, Finny stayed in the truck.  Helping from afar.  And…it was exhausting!  And…like any kid is wont to do….he fell asleep in his dinner.

Well…all wrapped in his leash and holding his bone.  Mid-gnaw…

Poor little dude – having horses is a lot of work! 🙂

So – on to my card.  I saw a similar card on Pinterest, and once I saw it – I knew I had to make one for myself – although I did change it up a bit.  You can see Michelle Last’s original card right here!

I used the Snow Place stamp set again – I know, I know! – but it looks a million times different from my card from yesterday.  When I saw Michelle’s card, it made me think of a family Christmas photo.  Seemed like a perfect opportunity for a photo-bomb!  Take a look-see:

Now, this is so easy and so fun to do, I hope you’ll give it a try and put your spin on it!

To start off, I stamped the smaller snowman from the Snow Place stamp set onto a stack of 4 sticky notes – with his head up near the top where it’s sticky.  Then I fussy cut him out – it’s easy to do all 4 at the same time.  I did the same with one sticky note for the penguin.

I used Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped the snowman 4 times across the bottom of a Whisper White panel.  Then I covered them all with a mask and stamped the next row.  From there, I just kept moving my masks and stamping my way up the panel.  When I got to where I thought the penguin ought to be peeking out, I just stamped him in, covered him with his mask – and went on to the top of the panel.

Easy peasy.

I colored all the noses (and one beak!) with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.

Now, it’s a known fact that penguins’ ears get cold, so I made some Snow Place ear muffs for him.  I inked just the muffs in Versamark, stamped a piece of Whisper White card stock, and sprinkled them with Real Red Glitter Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I heated them up and let them cool.  I carefully inked up the middle part of the muffs with Basic Black Archival Ink and stamped over the glittery muffs.  Then I cut them out with the matching die in the Snow Friends Framelits and popped them onto the penguin with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I didn’t want to mess up my family photo (any more than the penguin already had!) with a sentiment that would cover them up, so I pulled out the Brushwork Alphabet set and stamped each letter in Real Red.  Those are the lower case letters, by the way.  I SNAILd the panel on a piece of Real Red card stock, and that was it for the card front!

For the inside, I inked just the second part of the Snow Place sentiment in Real Red and stamped it in the middle of a Whisper White panel.

I SNAILd it to a Real Red mat and into my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

On my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I added another Snow Place penguin and a couple of snowmen on the front…

…and another snowman family photo on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Easy and peasy and oh-so-much-fun to do!  I hope you like!
