Stampin’ Up! Jar of Halloween Haunts and a Blog Candy Winner!

Mornin,’ y’all!  I hope this post finds you all well and safe.  If you’re on the southeast coast of our country and in the path of Hurricane Matthew, please take the very best of care and keep you and yours safe!

I know you’re all anxious to see who won the Blog Candy, so read on down and check it out! 🙂

My card today is another one for Halloween.  I played around with some of the images in Jar of Haunts – including my little spider who was released from his time out for the first time since “the incident” – and a few from Halloween Scares and Spooky Fun!  And – I combined it with….Petals & Paisleys?!?  Yep!  Take a look-see:

My design for this one stems from the sketch challenge #257 at Freshly Made Sketches:

The color palette hails from the Pals Paper Arts challenge #321:

And it also worked nicely into the theme challenge at The Paper Players, challenge #315:

pp-315-sketch
I started with a Cajun Craze design from Petals & Paisleys, matting it on Crushed Curry.

The art panel is a plain piece of Very Vanilla, also matted on Crushed Curry.  I made my jar by first stamping, on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla, the jar image from Jar of Haunts in Early Espresso.  Inside the jar, I stamped the candy corn image in Crushed Curry, then I colored the candies in with my Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Write Markers.  Finally, I stamped some Elegant Eggplant “ooze” at the top of the jar.  Then I cut it out with the matching die from the Everyday Jars Framelits.

I love that Everyday Jars goes with three stamp sets, don’t you?  Jar of Love, Jar of Haunts and Jar of Cheer.  Handy! 🙂

I went over to my Jar of Love set, and stamped the lid image in Versamark on Very Vanilla.  Then I sprinkled it with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heated it up and cut it with its matching die.

I released my tiny spider from his time-out and inked him in more Early Espresso and added him around the candy corn inside the jar.  Then I kept him at the ready (keeping my eye on him the whole time – he’s a sneaky little booger!).

I stamped a couple of spider webs from the Spooky Fun set in Elegant Eggplant in the corners of my Very Vanilla panel.  Across the bottom, in Crushed Curry, I added the dots image from Halloween Scares.  Over that – the sentiment from Spooky Fun in Elegant Eggplant.

I popped the jar onto the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then used Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere the lid at a spider-enticing open angle.  I added a few Elegant Eggplant “eek”‘s and then got busy again with my spider.

I used my Elegant Eggplant Stampin’ Write Marker to make a “web” down to the jar for one bold guy to get down…

Once I SNAILd the panel to the card front, I added even more Early Espresso spiders.  Where there’s one there’s a million, right?!? 🙂  And that was it for the card front.

On the inside, I repeated the Halloween Scares dots image in Crushed Curry across the bottom of a Very Vanilla panel, then added Elegant Eggplant spider webs and Early Espresso spiders.

I SNAILd the panel to a Crushed Curry mat and into my Cajun Craze card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got more Spooky Fun spider webs in Elegant Eggplant and some Jar of Haunts spiders in Early Espresso across the front…

…and I added some more Petals & Paisleys DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I don’t know about you, but I’m not all that interested in opening up a jar of candy corn and finding a gob of little tiny spiders in it, are you?  Unless, of course, it’s this cute card!  I love how all the elements came together and coordinate so well.  Hope you like! 🙂

Too cute! I am sure your captive spider was happy to rejoin his 8-legged mates. And has no doubt advised them to take good care when they venture from the web at YOUR place. I know they all tremble and hold on tight when they hear the vacuum. 😃
