Stampin’ Up! Pretty Kitty Happy Birthday

Happy Friday, y’all! Are any of you planning to go see Independence Day: Resurgence this weekend? I’m hoping to go – I’ll miss Will Smith, but Jeff Goldblum is always fun! And it’ll be in 3-D iMax – which is the bestest way to see these kinds of movies. With some popcorn and a slushy! 😉

Now, when you see today’s card you’re probably going to think I’ve forgotten that I used Touches of Texture to make fireworks just a couple of days ago. But I haven’t! I played with a challenge today that pretty much demanded fireworks so….

Today I combined it with a stamp set I hadn’t played with yet – called Pretty Kitty. And I added some pretty Playful Palette DSP paper and some Labeler Alphabet. Take a look-see:

As I mentioned, I played with a few challenges today. The first, a theme challenge from the Paper Players (#300), is what led me to use the fireworks image again….

I also worked with a sketch challenge from CAS(E) This Sketch – #178:

And finally, I pulled my color palette from the Global Design Project #041:

So – I started out by SNAILing a piece of the Sweet Sugarplum paper from the Playful Palette DSP Stack onto my Night of Navy card base.  For the art piece, I first stamped the dots image from Touches of Texture in Sweet Sugarplum (see?  Completely different from the other day – on that one I used Cherry Cobbler. 😉 )  The second step of any self-respecting firework is the actual explosion – and I made this one in Night of Navy with a second image from Touches of Texture.

I gave the top portion of the card a few flicks with my Gold Wink of Stella and added a few of the gold stars from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack.

The main portion of the art is in the bottom corner – and she (you can tell it’s a girl cuz I gave her a Sweet Sugarplum bow) comes from the cute new set called Pretty Kitty.  Soft kitty….sweet kitty….little ball of….oh, sorry! 🙂

I stamped her in Basic Black Archival Ink and then added a few little bits of Sweet Sugarplum “ground” and colored her bow with my Stampin’ Write Marker.

Pretty Kitty Birthday 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I decided that since she’s quite obviously looking up at the firework display, she’s probably saying things like “ooh” – “ahh” – “ohh!”  So.  I made her some exclamations of appreciation with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set. In Night of Navy! Gotta love being able to “write” anything you want, huh?

I ran my Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush all along the edges of the panel and then SNAILd it to a Night of Navy mat and popped it over the Playful Palette card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  And the card front was done!

Pretty Kitty Birthday 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On the inside, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to carefully align and position my two sentiments from Pretty Kitty, which I stamped in Night of Navy.  I repeated the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush edging, SNAILd it to a Night of Navy mat and then to another piece of Playful Palette DSP.

I SNAILd it all into the Night of Navy card base and the card was done.

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more of the Touches of Texture fireworks in Sweet Sugarplum and Night of Navy on the front…

…and then added some more the Playful Palette DSP to the envelope flap.

Pretty Kitty Birthday 8 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  A completely unique and totally different fireworks card made with the exact same stamps I used on Wednesday! 🙂  And it gave a perfect introduction to the Pretty Kitty stamp set!  Hope that you like! 🙂
