Stampin’ Up! Sitting Here with Bella and a Flourish!

Happy Saturday – I hope that you’re getting ready for a fun weekend!  We’re busily cutting and winding and sorting beautiful new designer papers and ribbon and twine and various fun embellishments to fill my Catalog Shares.  I say “we” because…well….

Please ignore my messy kitchen, okay?  The housekeeper has the decade off!  The point of the pictures is that my wonderful husband helped me cut paper and wind twine!  He needed to be the paper cutter cuz when I cut it – well, it wasn’t quite right….please check his laser focus on getting the measurements exactly right! 😉  But I did do the twine cutting – or we’d still be doing it – while he measured it to a nano-meter!!  Just in case NASA were to call and need exactly, precisely, 3 yards of Melon Mambo Thick Baker’s Twine.

And yet – even with his help…we’ve still got a lot to cut and wind!  I’m still behind.  How is that possible, does anyone know?  I sure don’t!

But, I did have some time to make a card for y’all.  This is a request-card.  A couple weeks ago, I made a Get Well card for my friend to give.  She wanted a card with a little white dog on it – but I didn’t have that stamp set yet.  So we decided on a two-parter.  The first card – you can see it here – was a pretty, vintage-y card using the Basket For You Host stamp set.  This one uses Sitting Here – she’d asked for the swing – and the new Bella & Friends for the little dog image.  And I pulled some images and sentiments from the new Flourishing Phrases, too.  Take a look-see:

I started by stamping a Dapper Denim card stock panel with the large flourish image in Flourishing Phrases, in Dapper Denim ink, and lightly sponged the edges in Dapper Denim.  That became my card front.  For the Very Vanilla art panel, I used masking to create my vignette.  So I stamped the cat image from Sitting Here in Soft Suede, then covered him with a mask that I’d made from a sticky note (just stamp the image on a sticky note and fussy cut it).  Over that I stamped the Sitting Here basket of flowers in Always Artichoke.  Then I covered that with a sticky note mask as well.  Finally, I stamped the swing image in Crumb Cake ink.

When I picked up the masks, I had my scene!  I added the shadow image in Early Espresso – stamping it off once before stamping the card.  Then I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the images a little.  The flower pot is accented with more Always Artichoke and filled in with Pear Pizzaz.  The kitty is So Saffron.  I gave the flowers a touch with Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.  The leaves are Emerald Envy.  I colored the swing cushion with Dapper Denim stripes and a Daffodil Delight background.  Finally, I added some Sahara Sand to the swing and sharpened up the outlines with a little more Crumb Cake.

I stamped the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases in Dapper Denim – using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get it lined up.  Then I lightly sponged the edges of the panel and SNAILd it to a Crumb Cake mat.  Then I SNAILd the whole thing to the card front.

The little dog is from the cute new set called Bella & Friends – chock full of cute images of “Bella” and her “friends” and a few fun sentiments.  I stamped her in Basic Black Archival ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock and then fussy cut her.  I popped her over the card panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I used my (now-retired) Signo White Gel pen to add some swirly texture to her.  It’s not in-your-face obvious, but your eye knows it’s there.  And I colored her little collar with my Flirty Flamingo and Rose Red Stampin’ Write Markers.

On the inside, I had a little fun.  First I stamped more of the Flourishing Phrases flourishes in Dapper Denim on a Dapper Denim panel and sponged the edges – also with Dapper Denim.  Then I stamped a second sentiment in Dapper Denim on a Very Vanilla panel – this one is also from Flourishing Phrases.  I sponged the edges with a little more Dapper Denim and SNAILd the panels together.  Then, I cut out a Crumb Cake flourish using the new Flourishes Thinlits.  I cut it up a little bit and used little dots of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to adhere it to the panel.

Then I SNAILd the panel into my Crumb Cake card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done! 🙂

I used a Crumb Cake Medium Envelope and another Crumb Cake Flourish Thinlit die cut – that I adhered with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to the front of the envelope…

…and I made a custom envelope flap cover with some of the new 2016-2018 In Color Envelope Paper (in Dapper Denim) that I stamped in Dapper Denim with the flourish image from Flourishing Phrases.

Et Voila!  I think this little card will fill the bill for my friend.  That little Bella is too cute – I’d like her to come live with me, I think!  She looks like a little fluffy mess!  And Flourishing Phrases and the matching Flourish Thinlits could very easily become a favorite bundle.  Pretty images and great sentiments make for a wonderful stamp set!  Hope it’s on your list of “must-haves”!
