Stampin’ Up! Floral Wings Petite Pairs Get Well!

Happy Weekend, y’all!

Heading into the last day of OnStage Live.  It’s been a great event – punctuated by lots of Prize Patrols and whoo-hoo-ing – and a great new catalog.  I’ll be bringing home a few make-and-takes, that showcase some of the new products, and I’ve taken lots of display pictures – that I’ll share with you with the updates on Tuesday!  I can’t wait for you to see the new goodies!

Convention

Today’s card is another one that uses a non-Stampin’ Up! pet stamp image.  I’ve used this cute little tilty-headed lab before – here’s a link to one, if you’re interested!  I combined it with a few images from the Host Exclusive stamp set called Floral Wings and sentiments from And Many More and Petite Pairs.  Add in some pretty DSP and, well, take a look-see:

I made it at the request of a friend whose friend had broken way too many bones and needed a little cheering up.

I suppose since the “right” number of bones a person should break is…zero!…then any bones broken would be “way too many”, huh?  Duh, Mary! 🙁

Anyway – I wanted cheerful, so I went for some pretty colors and Designer Paper is the way to go.  I first made a card front with a piece of Birthday Bouquet DSP – which is a Mossy Meadow color – and I matted it on a Hello Honey dotted design from the 2014-2016 In Colors DSP Stack.  Over that, I stuck a length of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon, adhering it with a little Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

The focal art started with a piece of Whisper White card stock, matted on another panel of Hello Honey DSP.  I stamped the little lab guy in Hello Honey ink (can you guess what kind of a dog the patient has?!? 🙂 ) and then colored him in with my So Saffron Stampin’ Write Marker.  That kind of washed out all the nice shading that the stamped image had, so I went back with my Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Marker and darkened it back up a bit.

Next to my yellow lab, I wanted a flower arrangement (these are way better than real ones, cuz they don’t need water and they won’t die tomorrow!).  I stamped the vase from Floral Wings in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Whisper White card stock, and cut it out.  On my art panel, I used some Mossy Meadow and stamped a few Floral Wings stems – 5, to be exact! – making sure they all sort of came together where a vase might be.

Then I popped my fussy-cut vase over the stems with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added some flowers to the stems – the Rose Red ones are from Floral Wings.  The Hello Honey flowers are from Number of Years.  This little five-petaled flower is one of my favorite flower images!!

I decided the dog-kid needed to be bringing a flower – so I used my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker to ink the stem image – leaving an un-inked spot (where it would go “thru” his mouth!) and stamped it on the image.  I tidied it up with the marker, and then gave him a Rose Red Floral Wings flower.

I also colored him a little Mossy Meadow bow-tie, while I was at it! 🙂

The flowers you see in the corners of the panel are punched with the Tree Builder Punch – in Rose Red, adhered with a little bit of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, and prettied-up with a seed Pearl Basic Embellishment.

For the sentiment, I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up and stamp two images from Petite Pairs.

I popped the panel over the Burlap Ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals and some Liquid Glue, and then glued a tiny Linen Thread bow to the Floral Wings vase, and the card front was done!

The inner liner is a Whisper White panel, matted on the Hello Honey DSP and Birthday Bouquet DSP paper.  I stamped a Mossy Meadow Floral Wings vase, with more Rose Red flowers and a Hello Honey Number of Years flower.  Using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped the sentiment from And Many More.

Floral Wings Petite Pairs Get Well 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers
I SNAILd the matted panel into my Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

For my Whisper White Medium Envelope, I reprised the vase from the inside of the card….

…and gave it a liner with a final piece of the Hello Honey 2104-2016 In Colors DSP Stack paper, cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelits.

Et Voila!  I think this turned out to be the perfect Get Well card for a dog-lover having a bad go.  I’m pretty sure (at least I hope so!) that it brought a smile to her face when she received it!

One more session today for OnStage and then the 2016 Event will be in the books!  Amy and I will head home tomorrow and be waiting by our mail boxes (or the gate, for me!) for our brand new goodies to arrive!!  Mr. UPS-man, bring me a prize!

TTFN!

Mary
