Stampin’ Up! Pedal Pusher Sneak Peek!

Good morning from Atlanta!!  🙂

Made it safely home (says Capt Obvious!) last night.  A minor miracle took place on the plane.  I had a window seat (not the miracle).  A young lady finally took the aisle seat.  We started to chat and discovered our mutual Air Force background.  People kept streaming by us – and no one was taking our middle seat.  We began to get excited.

The flight attendant came by and asked us if someone was sitting there.  We said no (cuz – that’s how we were raised!) and she replied that she had someone who needed a seat.

Somewhat crestfallen, we waited for the passenger to arrive.

And they closed the doors!  Yes, you read that right – they closed the doors and we were blessed with the ONLY open middle seat in the whole plane!  I tell ya – it was like Christmas!  It was almost like being upgraded to First Class!

What does it say about air travel these days that we were so pitifully grateful to just not have someone in the middle seat?  Really?!

Motor home, baby.  Motor home!

Any hooch – today I’m doing a quick share of a new stamp set that y’all can get for yourself starting tomorrow!  It’s the new Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Pedal Pusher – and boy is it fun!  The focal image is a great tandem bicycle – have you guys ever ridden one of those?  We had one when I was growing up and my brother and I would take turns riding on the back with my dad in the front.  We always thought we were so clever – we’d put our feet up on the center bar – and make Dad do all the peddling! 🙂

I paired the new stamp set with an Occasions set called Happy Home.  And I threw in a couple of little images from Beautiful Ride.  What you’re about to see is what happens when I get a couple of sets and my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig together!  Take a look-see:

Pedal Pusher Happy Home 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I started by stamping the bike image in Basic Black Archival Ink on a panel of Very Vanilla.  It’s matted on Marina Mist.  I added the little basket (also from Pedal Pusher) in Crumb Cake to the front of the bike.

The little dog is from Beautiful Ride – and he’s stamped in Early Espresso and colored with Smoky Slate.

To add the Pedal Pusher flowers, I just laid the uninked stamp (on the acrylic block) over the basket and kind of eyeballed how much of the image I could squeeze in there – and then that’s the part that I inked – in Mossy Meadow.

Pedal Pusher Happy Home 6 - Stamps-N-Lingers

To add the background images – the little person and her dog flying the kite and the bench – both from Happy Home – I stamped them both on my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (one at a time, obviously!) and then I laid the acetate over my picture and moved it around until I got it where I wanted it.  Then I used my Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to ink up the part of the image that I wanted.  You can see that I didn’t ink part of the little person – so that it would look like he was behind the bike.  I did that with each image.

Pedal Pusher Happy Home 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

And then I colored!  I’m not going to tell you every color that I used – I think you should just have fun with all the colors that you’ve got!  I will tell you I added some Mossy Meadow “grass” along the hillside, and under the tires of the bike.  And added a little grass here and there around the hillside!

The clouds are also from Happy Home – I used my Stampin’ Write Marker in Marina Mist to color just the clouds on the stamp image and stamped them kind of all over.  Then I colored those in with my Pool Party marker.

The sentiment is from Pedal Pusher and is stamped in Marina Mist!  The little hearts you might recognize from Beautiful Ride – stamped in Rose Red.

Pedal Pushe Happy Home 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

On the inside, I got busy with the hearts image from Beautiful Ride again – stamping it all over in Rose Red on a piece of Very Vanilla.  Then I SNAILd that to another panel of Marina Mist and then into my Very Vanilla card base.  I popped the front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that was it for the card.

Pedal Pusher Happy Home 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I stamped more Rose Red Beautiful Ride hearts on the front of a Very Vanilla Medium Envelope…

Can you see it?

No?

Hmmmmm – oh yea, I totally forgot to take a picture of the front.  Please don’t ask me why – I have no excuse whatsoever!

…then I added a liner using a piece of the Have a Cuppa DSP stack, cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelit!

Pedal Pusher Happy Home 5 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Voila!  How cute is that new stamp set?  It’s also got a “spray” of hearts that can go in the basket, or a loaf of bread and bottle of wine!  And it’s got a flag – and the two little birds that you can see I stamped on the bike seats!  I hope the you get it and will make your own fun scenes to color!

This is it!  Today’s the last day to get that Wink of Stella Glitter Brush for free!

Just sayin’….

  1. What a sweet card Mary! Love the way that you stamped the background images around your bike. Perfect summertime scene! Glad to hear that you had a smooth flight AND and empty seat next to you on your way home. 🙂

  2. Mom

Miracles happen every day! So glad you had one fly by you.
Oh, and btw, I think your rememberer is intact too. That tandem bike was a fun thing. And in your neat card, Iz got a ride in the basket. Not that she would have come close to fitting.

  3. Mary, that is so adorable, now I really like the background stamp set. It needed that bicycle! Welcome home!
