Stampin’ Up! Rose Wonder Sympathy for the Happy Stamper’s Blog Hop

HappyStampersBlogPostBanner-2

Welcome welcome – to another edition of the Happy Stampers weekly Blog Hop!  This week we all worked with some lovely colors – Rose Red, Whisper White and Gold!

12301543_1305619832797922_1745474301327676133_nI hope that you’ll take a little time today – maybe get a cuppa something warm (and a cookie!)  – and settle back to peruse all the pretty projects our Happy Stamper ladies have made for you today. 🙂

My share uses the wonderful new Occasions bundle with the Rose Wonder stamp set and Rose Garden Thinlits ($49.25 for the bundle, a savings of 15%).  I made a sympathy card – for my friends in Atlanta.  They’ve lost too many of their 4-legged kids this past few months.  But, here’s the thing.  You could oh-so-easily make this exact card, minus one tiny element, and it would be a lovely sympathy card for any human person need!  Take a look-see:

Rose Wonder Sympathy 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers

See the one and only piece of this card that says it’s for the loss of a pet??

I started with a panel of Rose Red card stock, and stamped the small flower image from Rose Wonder in Rose Red.  I just randomly covered the entire panel – to create a little life behind the overlying elements.  Then I SNAILd it to a mat from one of the pretty designs in the Love Blossoms DSP Stack.

I cut the large flower die cut from the Rose Garden Thinlits out of some Gold Foil, trimmed off the large leaves – so it would fit on my card! – and adhered it to the card front with my Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

Rose Wonder Sympathy 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I made the sentiment label by using some Rose Red ink to stamp the label image (from Rose Wonder) on a piece of Whisper White card stock, and then stamped the sentiment (also from Rose Wonder) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink inside the label.  I cut it out with the coordinating die in Rose Garden.  For the mat, I lightly traced the actual label die onto some more of the Love Blossoms DSP, and fussy cut it out.  That makes a perfect mat! 🙂

Since this card is for the loss of a pet – I used my Rose Red Stampin’ Write Marker and free-handed a tiny paw print under the sentiment (and gave it a little touch of Clear Wink of Stella).  To add just a little more glimmer and texture, I looped some Gold Metallic Thread behind the label with Glue Dots, and then I popped it onto the card front – allowing it to overlap the Gold Foil rose – with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The bow is from the Occasions Catalog Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit.  I slid the bow off its little paper clip, and adhered just the bow with a little dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.  I also pulled a few sequins from that kit and stuck them on – with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.  The final touch was a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels – and the card front was done and ready to go!

Rose Wonder Sympathy 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers

For the inside, I stamped more of the small flowers from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Rose Red onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I colored them in with my Blender Pens using Rose Red for the petals.  My Gold Wink of Stella did the duty for the centers of the flowers, and I brushed Clear Wink of Stella on the petals, too, to add some shine!

And – I stamped another paw print – this time a little bigger and using a non-SU! brand stamp – in Rose Red.  It got some Clear Wink as well!

The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and also comes from Rose Wonder.  I SNAILd the panel to another piece of Love Blossoms DSP, and SNAILd it into my Rose Red card base.

I popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and that was it for the card!

Rose Wonder Sympathy 4 - Stamps-N-Lingers

I used a Whisper White Medium Envelope and prettied up the front with more small Rose Wonder flowers – stamped in Rose Red and colored with my Blender Pens and both Gold and Clear Wink of Stella, just like the flowers on the inside of the card.  You can see I also did another Rose Red paw print, that I painted with Clear Wink of Stella…

…and added a liner using a second design from the Love Blossoms DSP stack, cutting it with my Envelope Liner Framelits.

Rose Wonder Sympathy 7 - Stamps-N-Lingers

Et Volia!  Rose Red, Whisper White and Gold all coming together to send thoughts of sympathy to a friend.  For a pet or not, this is an easily customizable card.  Just as an aside – the Rose Wonder set is really lovely and a great value!  It has 10 sentiments – ranging from sympathy to wedding wishes to friendship and thanks.  And 4 images – the large flower, the small flower, the label image, and a leaf frond.  Lots of fun things to play and create with!  Add the matching Rose Garden Thinlits and make it a bundle, and you’ve got a heck of an addition to your stampin’ tool chest! 🙂

I, of course, love the one tiny element! And am noting that it’s addition to most any sympathy card would make it 4-legged appropriate as well as beautiful. Now if only I can remember that…
