Good morning! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend! Yesterday was just as bad as I figured it would be – I packed one Priority Mail box with paper and punches (it weighs approximately a million pounds!). This morning we’re going to see if I need to pull more out of the suitcases and pack a second box. Keep your fingers crossed, okay? 😉
Today’s share uses another new Occasions catalog stamp set – Grateful Bunch. But, let me ask you a question, y’all. Am I a complete goofus? Did I – or did I not – learn a valuable lesson when I failed to buy the Among the Branches bundle in the Holiday Catalog? When I said to myself – “self, you’re not going to need or want that stamp set – just get the Woodland TIEF – you don’t need the bundle”. And then, not a week and change later, did I or did I not buy the Among the Branches stamp set?? The answer is no – I did not learn a lesson. Cause yes – I did exactly that.
Now, I’ve told you over and over what a great deal buying bundles is. Right? But – apparently I do not listen to my own advice. When making my ginormous Occasions Catalog order last week, I said to myself – “self, you’re not going to need or want that punch that coordinates with Grateful Bunch. Just get the stamp set”. So, once again I went against my own advice.
So, for today’s card – which uses Grateful Bunch, and COULD have used the matching punch (Blossom Bunch Punch – available with Grateful Bunch for $33.00), I did a lot of fussy cutting! 😉 I combined the pretty flowers and sentiments from Grateful Bunch with some Wildflower Fields DSP and this is what I came up with. Take a look-see:
I used the Pals Paper Arts #292 sketch challenge as inspiration for my layout. Head over and check out all the creations – or play along, too! – okay?
I started by SNAILing a panel of Wildflower Fields DSP to a Smoky Slate card stock mat. Then I made the sentiment panel, SNAILing some Smoky Slate to a Calypso Coral card stock mat. I wanted a little interest for the sentiment panel, so I looked thru my stash – and saw an image in Summer Silhouettes – that looks just like the dandelions on the DSP! So I used it, inking it in Smoky Slate and stamping it off once before stamping the panel. I kind of covered the panel with random Smoky Slate dandelions!
Then, I stamped the Grateful Bunch sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the right side of the panel.
I made the large Calypso Coral flower by stamping the image in Whisper White Craft ink on Calypso Coral card stock, then quickly sprinkling it with Iridescent Ice Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossing it.
Then I fussy cut it. 🙁
The smaller flowers are all stamped in Hello Honey on Whisper White card stock and….
fussy cut.
sigh….
I rolled all their little petals with my bone folder, and adhered the flowers together (offsetting their curled petals!) with a little dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue. I adhered them to the sentiment panel – Liquid Glue for the Calypso Coral flower, Stampin’ Dimensionals for the two larger Hello Honey flowers, and more Liquid Glue for the smallest flower nestled under the whole mess.
I added a Botanical Garden Jewel to the large flower with a Glue Dot and some Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue, and each Hello Honey flower got a Rhinestone Basic Jewel. The jewels started with the largest size and then worked down on each flower.
I popped that panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and set the whole thing aside.
For the inside, I SNAILd a panel of Whisper White to a mat of Smoky Slate. The Grateful Bunch sentiment is stamped on with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then I added another Summer Silhouette dandelion over it – this one I stamped off TWICE before stamping the card. And that was it! Very simple.
I SNAILd the panels into my Calypso Coral card base, popped the card front on with some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. And that was it for the card.
I decorated a Whisper White Medium Envelope with more dandelions on the front – I inked the stamp, stamped off once on scrap paper, then stamped the envelope twice without re-inking…
…and cut a liner from more of the Wildflower Fields DSP with my Envelope Liner Framelits.
Et Voila! A perfect example of why you should ALWAYS buy the bundle! Even if you don’t think you need both pieces – just get them! I can almost guarantee that you’ll use everything.
Or you’ll regret not getting the bundle and get carpal tunnel from too much fussy cutting! 🙁
Anyway….also remember that this Wildflower Fields DSP is only available as a Sale-A-Bration FREE item – so be sure to do what you need to do to be able to add it to your stash!
I’ll see you tomorrow – from Arizona!

So pretty Mary! I can’t believe that you fussy cut all of those flowers!! They look fantastic, but it must have taken forever…bummer on the bundle. Good thing that you can still buy the punch individually! 😉
Yes. Yes, I did. 🙂 Thanks, Amy! 🙂
Lovely, Mary. The time you spent doing it the hard way paid off, imho. Not to discount the easier route. 😕
Thanks, Mom! 🙂
Great job on the flowers! I love your card with all of the dandelions, inside and out 🙂
Thanks a bunch, Jari. 🙂 Get it??? Bunch?!?! Ha! 🙂
