Stampin’ Up! Mini Treat Bag Thinlit for Halloween – and WCMD!!

Happy Day-After-World-Card-Making-Day! 🙂 Hope you had some time to make cards in celebration.  Yesterday was wonderful at the WCMD 2015 Atlanta!  There were 100 card-making-geniuses (genius-i?) who attended at the Marriott up on the north end of Atlanta.  In spite of the rainy, gloomy day, spirits were high (there was a lot of “whoo-hoo!-ing”) and fun was had by every single person there.  Brian King and Pam Morris (and a bevy of folks to help them) did an awesome job putting on this day-long event!

Everyone started gathering up and finding their spot for the day.  There were old friends to see and new friends to make.  Got to meet folks whose blogs I follow – Mary Fish, Brian King, Amy Whelan….

My own upline, the uber-talented Amy Koenders was there with us – and there was an entire display board dedicated to her beautiful cards!  I pretty much told everyone that she was my “SU! Mom” (that’s what folks call their immediate upline – Grandma would be next up and so on). Lots of folks stopped to take pictures of all the beautiful projects on display.

WCMD 2015 Atlanta 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers That’s Brian and Pam standing on the other side of the table (and the lovely lady sitting between them in the black shirt is Brian’s mom, Mary! His actual mom – the one who had to deal with his wicked sense of humor as he was growing up!).  We were busy doing the FIVE adorable make-and-take’s that had been put together for us – I’ll share a few of those this next week. WCMD 2015 Atlanta 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers That’s me and Sue Prather and Sherry Timko, modeling our Tacky Tags.  No – I did NOT win.  But there were some amazingly tacky tags at this event!  Really.  Truly.  Hideous! 😉 A lot of fun – and a lot of talented ladies who overcame their natural instincts and made things they’d never put together in “real life”!!  Here’s the line-up of the top 5 finalists.  The winner was Jackie Beers!  She’s second from the right – her name tag had blinking blue lights on it!

So that was my day yesterday.  Again, thanks to Brian and Pam and all their helpers for giving us all a really great day!

I do have a cute little project to share with you today.  It’s a super easy and quick little treat bag for Halloween that I put together with my Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die and a little Happy Haunting DSP.  Take a look-see: Thinlits Mini Treat Bag Halloween 1 - Stamps-N-Lingers This starts with a Mini Treat Bag that I built using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die.  You just cut two pieces (there’s even directions and pictures on the Thinlits package!) and adhere them together using Tear & Tape Adhesive.  With that done, it’s time to decorate!  I made a tag out of a piece of Very Vanilla card stock, which I punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Added a cute sentiment from A Little Something stamp set, in Pumpkin Pie (of course!), and some creepily-cute spiders in Basic Black Archival Ink (same stamp set).  I ran a length of Basic Black 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon through the top and then used a dab of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue to stick the pieces together.  I finished that off with a little bow from some Tangerine Tango Baker’s Twine – and the tag base was done! Thinlits Mini Treat Bag Halloween 2 - Stamps-N-Lingers The Jack O’Lantern is from the Sparkly Seasons Bundle – you get the Sparkly Seasons stamp set and the Seasonal Frame Thinlits for 15% off!  I just stamped the face image in Basic Black Archival Ink and then cut it out with the matching Thinlit.  I stamped his little stem and leaf in the same ink on a piece of Mossy Meadow and cut that out (yep – there’s a Die for That!) and then stuck it right behind him with a little Liquid Glue. I layered a couple of pieces of Happy Haunting Washi Tape across the tag, stuck the Jack O’ Lantern on with more Liquid Glue and then clipped the tag to the bag with a Gold Mini Metallic Clothespin. Thinllt Mini Treat Bag Halloween 3 - Stamps-N-Lingers Et Voila!  Easy Peasy little treat bag for your ghoulies and ghosties at Halloween!! 🙂

A little note:  Mea culpa for my tardiness this morning.  The website that I normally use to bring the list of Stampin’ Up! Products  used in the project is behaving badly this morning.  So – I’m just going to provide a text list of the products with their item number.  I tried to give the website time to straighten up, but….it didn’t.  Finally decided it was more important to get the post out than to give the product list in the format you’re used to.  I’ll try to give you that list tomorrow.  So sorry!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend – I’ll be back in your inbox bright and early tomorrow with a new project to share!
