Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Path Sneak Peek for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Now – I’m using a stamp set that y’all MIGHT have overlooked on your first pass (or fourth!) thru the new Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog.  It’s called Wildflower Path – and it struck me the first time I saw it.  So…I decided to pull it out and give it a little love.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our sketch!

I also thought it fit pretty well with the final challenge of the year from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I started by adhering a piece of Petal Pink paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the front of a Calypso Coral card base.

For the art, I pulled out some of our Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.

Now – if you’ve ever dreamed of growing a cottage garden or a big field of wildflowers – then this photopolymer, multi-step stamp set is FOR YOU!!

Pull out some paper and ink and go to “planting”!

You don’t have to use the Watercolor Paper – as you’ll see on the inside, but it does lend a nice effect for the front of your card.

To begin, I used the two tallest stem images from the set in Pear Pizzazz across the bottom of the Fluid 100 panel.

Then I used the second stem with Granny Apple Green ink – making sure to vary the heights of the stems.

The first flowers are two-step: the first image I did in Petal Pink and then the accent image is in Calypso Coral.

I also added some So Saffron flowers with the smaller multi-flower image from Wildflower Path.

Finally, I added a few single flowers in Fresh Freesia.  Then I stamped the grass image several times across the bottom in Granny Apple Green.

Using the bullet-tip end of my Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Write Marker, I flicked some Fresh Freesia splatters across the top of the panel.

I tore all four edges, and popped the panel on the front of the card, at a jaunty angle, with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a half-double-loop Linen Thread bow – this is like a regular Double Loop Bow, but I only wrapped the thread around TWO times instead of FOUR!  That’s TWO times around four fingers, then TWO times around two fingers!

Then I adhered the bow to the card front with a Glue Dot.

The sentiment, from Wildflower Path (and one of my FAVE of…ever!!) is stamped on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper in Petal Pink, then cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die and popped over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

NO cottage garden is worth the title without…BUTTERFLIES!  So, I pulled out the amazeballs Brushed Brass Butterflies embellishments and…got busy!

And that was it for the card front. 🙂

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from Wildflower Path in Petal Pink on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Then I stamped more of the flowers and grass across the bottom – in the same colors that I’d used on the front.  Look close – I even added in some more little brass flutterbies! 🙂  Note: when you CASE this one, do a little more height variation on the flowers than I did, okay??  Just sayin’!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Petal Pink mat and into the Calypso Coral card base and the card was done!

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a partial Wildflower Path garden on the front…

…and more Petal Pink paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Yes, it’s true.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this set!  The Stampin’ Up! designers did a spectacular job with the Wildflower Path images – creating a truly watercolor-y look! When you create YOUR garden with it – don’t be afraid to use lots of color for your flowers – just like in a REAL garden!

I hope you like!
