Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Petals for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!!  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with today and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table!  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

Our sketch struck me as perfect for showcasing some pretty Designer Series Paper, so I decided to pull out one of my favorites (that JUST SO happens to be ON SALE right now for 15% off!) – the Hand-Penned DSP.  I used the coordinating – and equally gorgeous! – Hand-Penned Petals Bundle, too!  Take a look-see!

And – here’s our sketch!

And I picked the sentiment from the set based on the Inspire. Create. challenge this week!

And I’m also playing along with the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge!

I started with one of the prettiest designs in the Hand-Penned DSP (IMHO!!) and I matted it on Daffodil Delight for the card front.  Then I selected a second design for the middle strip.  Using the long edge-die in the bundle Penned Flowers Die Set, I cut both long sides.  I did the same on a slightly wider piece of Daffodil Delight to make a scalloped mat! 🙂

I adhered the DSP strip to its mat and then onto the card front with Liquid Glue.

Using the middle label die in the Hippo & Friends Die Set, I cut yet another design from Hand-Penned.  This I popped onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the detailed floral die in the Penned Flowers set – and the coordinating outline die – I cut a flower from a piece of Basic White (I made sure to keep the negative pieces!).

I used the leaf die in the Penned Flowers set to cut three Mint Macaron leaves.  Two of them I slid under the popped up die cut – with Liquid Glue to adhere them.

I used my Light Daffodil Delight and Light Highland Heather Stampin Blends to color the negative pieces from the three largest flowers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the third die-cut leaf under just the most outer portion of the small flower – I was creating a little “shelf” to support the pieces I was planning to stick back inside!

I used more Liquid Glue to adhere the die cut to the card front.  Then I adhered my Blender-colored negative pieces back in place with a little more Liquid Glue.  See how that top Daffodil Delight flower hangs over the edge of the die cut DSP label?  The leaf that I adhered to it gave me something to glue the little piece to so that it would stay in place! 🙂

I stamped the Hand-Penned Petals sentiment in Highland Heather on a piece of Basic White and cut it with the smallest rectangle in the Stitched So Sweetly Die set.

I tied a bow from two lengths of white twine from the Baker’s Twine Essential Pack and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

Then I used Double-Stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the die-cut sentiment onto the card front.

I stuck on a few Highland Heather Pastel Pearls and a Bumblebee Trinket (with a Glue Dot) and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped one of the pretty, big florals from Hand-Penned Petals in Tuxedo Black on a Basic White panel.  I colored it with my Light Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends.  Then I added another Pastel Pearl!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Daffodil Delight mat and into my Mint Macaron card base – popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Hand-Penned flower on the front…

…and more of that beauteous Hand-Penned DSP on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  I can’t even tell you how much I love the entire Hand-Penned Suite – with the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set and bundled Penned Flowers Dies – look at what all you can cut out! – and the stunning.  Gorgeous.  Beautimous Hand-Penned DSP.   And when you consider that this is one of NINE DSPs on sale right now – there’s really no reason AT ALL to not be stocking up on it (and all of them, really!) so that you don’t come up short next Spring!  Just sayin’…

I hope you like!
