Stampin’ Up! Petal Promenade Thinking of You For the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday, y’all – and welcome to another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!! Today’s a color challenge, and I hope you’ll check out everyone’s projects when you’re done here!  I love these colors (although I got a little jiggy with the pink…) – and know you will, too.

I pulled out one of my favorite papers from the Petal Promenade DSP and took inspiration from a card my friend and team member Clara Shore made.  Then I added a pretty sentiment from the Accented Blooms stamp set.  Take a look-see:

And here are the colors we played with.

Hey – there’s Petal Pink in there – squint yer eyes, you’ll see it! 😉  I told you I got a little jiggy with the pink!

I started with a piece of the Petal Promenade DSP that I cut to length (3 7/8″).  Then I cut three 1 5/8″ wide strips – making sure to keep track of “up” and “down” and which strip went where. I actually marked the back of each strip with an arrow pointing to the top – and “L”, “C” and “R”.  With a card like this – using paper with a noticeable pattern – keeping track of what goes where is pretty important! 🙂

I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of all three strips and added them to my Mossy Meadow card stock mat.  I started with the middle strip – making sure it was centered – then used that to get the other two strips where they needed to be!

I stamped the sentiment from the Accented Blooms stamp set in Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla and cut it out with an oval Stitched Shapes Framelits die.  Then I matted that on a Mossy Meadow scalloped oval.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the matted sentiment to the card front.

I added a little silver Leaves Trinket with a Glue Dot, then adhered a bow tied with a double-length of Very Vanilla Solid Baker’s Twine with a rolled up Glue Dot.  A few Basic Adhesive-Backed Sequins here and there finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped a second Accented Blooms sentiment in Mossy Meadow on a Very Vanilla panel.  In each corner, I added a little flourish in Mossy Meadow – and colored the heart/flower with my Petal Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.  I also added the little flower image in Mossy Meadow – coloring it in Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink.  Because I could – I added another little sequin, too!

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel onto a Mossy Meadow mat and into my Very Vanilla card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got a couple more Accented Blooms flourishes on the front…

…and the last of this Petal Promenade DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  When I first saw Clara’s card, I knew I needed to make one for myself – and the Petal Promenade DSP is the perfect choice for this design – it truly lets that gorgous bunch of flowers take center stage!  Accented Blooms – which coordinates with the fun Tailored Tag Punch – works so well – with the punch or without! Hope you like!
