Stampin’ UP! Spooktacular Fright Fun Fold Halloween Card for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Halloween Fun!  Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

My card today is a simple fun fold – called a Triple Panel Standing card – and it lets the super cute Spooktacular 6″ x 6″ DSP do all the work!  I added some sentiments and images from the Oh My Fright stamp set to make this easy Halloween card.  Take a look-see:

I’d seen this card from Rachel Tessman out on Pinterest and…I thought it was too cute not to make myself!  So…I did! 🙂

I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock that I scored at 1 7/8″, 3″, 5 1/2″ and 6 5/8″.  I folded the two outer score lines as mountains and the two inner scores as valleys.

I picked my sheet of Spooktacular 6″ x 6″ DSP and cut it down so I could make it into my three panels.  Here’s how:

– Use the Paper Trimmer to cut 1/4″ from the left and right sides – ending up with 5 1/2″ wide

– Use the Paper Trimmer to cut 3/8″ from the top and the bottom – ending up with 5 1/4″ tall

I did it that way so that the printed design stays centered on the panel. 😎

Using the Paper Trimmer – with the 5 1/2″ side at the top – I cut at 1 5/8″ from the left side and then 1 5/8″ from the right side..

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panels to the three widest panels of the card front – being sure to keep the design in order!

I selected a coordinating design from the paper and cut four 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ pieces.  I used Liquid Glue to adhere two of them to the middle panels of the card front.

On a 5/8″ x 2 3/8″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped an Oh My Fright sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the strip to a Basic Black mat.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the middle panel of the card front.  Note: I made sure that when the card was closed – the sentiment didn’t extend past the right edge of the card base – so it’ll still go in an envelope!

I used a dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend to color six Rhinestone Basic Jewels – two large and two small – and adhered them in the opposite corners of the outer panels and…the card front was done!

On the back side, I used Liquid Glue to adhere the remaining two 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Spooktacular 6″ x 6″ DSP to the middle panels.

On the dark side of two 1 5/8″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Basic Black Two-tone Cardstock – I stamped the large bat image from Oh My Fright several times in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Using a White Gel Pen, I added “eyes”.

Then I adhered the panels to the outer panels on the back of the card using Liquid Glue.

On a 2 3/8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped an Oh My Fright sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink. Then I added the little cloud of bats from the set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside back panel and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the cloud of bats on the front…

Et Voila!  Thanks, Rachel – for a fun fun fold and a great Halloween idea!  The Oh My Fright set turned this cute Count from the Spooktacular 6″ x 6″ DSP into a totally NOT scary Halloween card!  And – with the four cute monsters in the pack – you can make one of each for all the litle ghoulies and ghosties on your list!
