Stampin’ UP! Oh My Frightfully Fun Times Halloween Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I made another Halloween card for this week – this one is WAAAAY scarier than the last one – and it features the super Frightfully Fun DSP – with the coordinating Oh My Fright bundle – both new Online Exclusives that you can get RIGHT NOW!  If you’re not too scaredy….take a look-see:

SCAAAAARY…..

And here’s our sketch – I sorta turned it on end… 😉

I started by adhering a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of new Frightfully Fun DSP to the front of a Pumpkin Pie card base using Liquid Glue.

I embossed a 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Basic Gray cardstock in the new Swirls of Magic 3D Embossing Folder and then used the tag die in the Oh My Fright die set to cut a tag – at an angle – from the middle.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of tree & moon paper from Frightfully Fun to a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Then I popped the embossed panel over the top with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Use Liquid Glue to adhere the card front to the front of the card base.

Using the die in the Oh My Fright set, I cut out a Basic Black tree.  This I adhered to the card front using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A cool feature of this new set is that a couple of the dies in Oh My Fright cut out some of the cute kitty images from the Frightfully Fun DSP.  I cut out a calico in a hat and a gray scaredy cat using the dies.

Using the Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Stampin’ Blend, I colored the outline of the scaredy cat.  I adhered him to the card front – sort of putting him “on” a branch – using Liquid Glue.

I stamped an Oh My Fright sentiment in Timid Tiger ink on a 5/8″ x 2 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered it with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I adhered the cat-in-the-hat in the corner with more Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used the die in the set to cut out three Basic Black bats and adhered them with little pieces of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

About that time, I thought I was done but… then I spied the WAAY too cute ghost die in the set and knew I had to have them.  So I cut three from Vellum Specialty Paper.  Using Mini Glue Dots – hidden behind the elements on the card front – I adhered them here and there.  One of them I adhered upside down so he’d be pointing the other way!

Finally, I tied a little bow from the new Black 3/8″ Iridescent Ribbon and adhered it at the top with a Mini Glue Dot and THEN the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Oh My Fright sentiment in Timid Tiger on a Very Vanilla panel.  Then I stamped the cute bats image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and the ghost in Smoky Slate ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel inside the Pumpkin Pie card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the bats and ghost from Oh My Fright on the front…

…and more of the Frightfully Fun DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I know this is a terrifying card but..the cute little ghosts sorta lighten it up, right!?  When I saw that die in the Oh My Fright set – it HAD to be used.  And I LOVE all the cute kitties in the Frightfully Fun DSP – some that cut out with the dies and some that are easy-peasy fussy cuts!  Add that to the spooky scenes in the paper – and this is one you’re going to want for your Halloween projects this year – be they cards OR scrapbook pages! 🙂

NEW JOINING PROCESS

As part of our new, more streamlined and easy, join process, all first-time demonstrators will receive a surprise Welcome Box—a gesture of appreciation and a warm welcome into the global Stampin’ Up! creative community! I’m going to keep the insides a secret but…there’s some fun goodies to help welcome you to the team!

How the New Process Works

Step 1: Join

New demonstrators will:

  1. choose a team leader.
  2. accept required agreements.
  3. enter a few personal details.
  4. pay the $100 join fee.
  5. click submit.

Step 2: Shop

Once their information has been reviewed and approved (usually very quickly), their Welcome Box ships, and the new demonstrator receives an email with:

  • their demonstrator ID.
  • a coupon code to begin shopping.

About the Coupon Code

  • Valued at $125.
  • Coupon code can be applied to any demonstrator order.
  • Order CAN exceed the coupon code value (I got asked all the time if new folks could go over $125 for their Starter Kit and I hated having to say “no”!).
  • Got a list LONGER than $125?  Easy peasy! Any amount above the coupon code value:
    • receives the demonstrator discount.
    • counts toward the quarterly sales minimum.
    • earns Stampin’ Rewards if it meets the qualifying purchase amount (as long as you’ve opted into the Stampin’ Rewards program).

Additional perk for new demonstrators

  • New demonstrators may add eight free catalogs to any order!
Let me know if you have any questions about the new joining process.  This is a great new process – I love that you’re now going to be able to go over that $125 amount AND that it will automatically count toward your sales!  You can see more information about the perks of being a Demonstrator and a part of our team right here.
