Stampin’ UP Moonlit Fern & Flora Sneak Peek Thanks for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I was so excited at OnStage to see the new Moonlit Flora Suite – y’all KNOW I’m a sucker for foliage – papers AND die cuts – and this suite has it all!  So – when I saw this week’s theme AND I needed a card…I went to that one.  I did a little playing with the pieces of the Moonlit Flora DSP they gave us and – with the help of the Fern & Flora bundle that we got as part of our After Hours Event – I made this pretty thank you card!  Take a look-see:

And here’s that theme that made me go with it!

I know – too easy!

I started by adhering a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of the new Moonlit Flora DSP to the front of my Secret Sea card base using Liquid Glue.

I cut two pieces of Secret Sea Two-Toned Cardstock – the larger one (dark side up) is 2 5/8″ x 3 5/8″ and the smaller panel (with the light side up) is 2 3/8″ x 3 3/8″.  Then I adhered the two pieces together with Liquid Glue.

On a 2 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Fern & Flora row-of-hash-marks image in Crushed Curry ink.  At the bottom, I stamped the Fern & Flora sentiment in Secret Sea ink.

I popped the sentiment onto the mats with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using the dies in the Fern & Flora set, I cut out a Mossy Meadow fern and a Mossy Meadow frond.  I also cut out an Old Olive stem-with-leaves.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered them to the Basic White panel.

I used the two dies in the Fern & Flora set to cut out Crushed Curry Petals and Basic White flower centers.

One run thru of each die makes enough flower petals and flower centers to make three flowers.  Using Liquid Glue, I assembled the flowers.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the flowers to the stem.

On a piece of Berry Burst cardstock, I stamped the two Fern & Flora bugs (one is a moth and the other a butterfly – I think!) in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  I cut them out with their coordinating dies and adhered them with a Mini Black Stampin’ Dimensional.

I tied a simple bow from Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.

Finally, I adhered the whole panel to the front of the card base with Liquid Glue and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped a second Fern & Flora sentiment in Secret Sea ink on a Basic White panel.  In the corner, I stamped one leaf from the set in full-strength Mossy Meadow ink. Then I added the fern image in stamped-off-once Mossy Meadow.  I stamped the moth/butterfly in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it with the Light Berry Burst Stampin’ Write Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Secret Sea card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the stamped-off-once Fern & Flora fern and full strength frond in Mossy Meadow ink on the front…

….and the fern image – stamped three times without re-inking on the envelope flap.

Et Voila. Well – if you love foliage and leaves – and SECRET SEA! – as much as I do them the Moonlit Flora DSP is going to want to be #1 in your cart with you can order it all on 5 May.  And the coordinating Fern & Flora bundle is the perfect complement to the paper!
