Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
With the recent release of the new November Online Exclusives – I thought this would be a great day to use my fave new suite – the Brushed With Beauty suite! I paired the DSP with the Petals of Beauty bundle and then went outside the Suite to the Banner Sayings bundle for the sentiments! They all came together in a beautiful birthday card. Take a look-see:
And – here’s our sketch!
And I also pulled elements from the current Tic-Tac-Toe challenge. I went across the diagonal (Leaves – Free – Die Cuts) and down the middle (Enamel Dots – Free – Fall Colors).
I started with two beautiful pieces of Brushed With Beauty DSP that I matted on Timid Tiger. I adhered the smaller matted panel to the larger with Liquid Glue to create the card front.
I used the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut out another piece of the DSP – this one in Mossy Meadow. I adhered the circle to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I used Stampin’ Seal + to adhere a loop-d-loop of Basic Beige 3/8″ Classic Ribbon to the die cut circle.
Using the dies in the Petals of Beauty set, I cut out some flowers and leaves.
– Three sets of smaller flowers – the solid portion and the coordinating detailed piece – one set each in Petal Pink, Timid Tiger and Peach Pie.
– Two solid leaves – one from Old Olive cardstock and one from Mossy Meadow.
– Two leaf “veins” – one from Old Olive and one from the Mossy Meadow Brushed with Beauty DSP.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the detailed flower die cuts to their matching solid flower die cuts. I did the same to assemble the leaves.
Then I adhered the foliage to the card front with Liquid Glue, starting with the Old Olive leaf and ending up with the Peach Pie flower.
I added a white Pearls of Beauty to the middle of each flower.
On a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, I stamped a Banner Sayings sentiment in Early Espresso Ink. I used the two-ended shape in the Three Banner Punch (bundled with Banner Sayings) to cut it out.
I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals – it took a double-stacked Dimensional on the right end of the banner.
I added five Calypso Coral Pearls of Beauty and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Banner Sayings sentiment in Early Espresso ink on a Very Vanilla panel. Over it, I stamped a small Petals of Beauty flower. This is a multi-step image – I stamped the detailed petal image in stamped-off-once Timid Tiger, the fill in stamped-off-TWICE Timid Tiger, and the flower center in stamped-off-once Timid Tiger.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Early Espresso card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Petals of Beauty flower on the front…
…and more Brushed With Beauty DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Wow – this Brushed with Beauty DSP is simply….stunning! I love the color palette and the beautiful, floral designs! It works perfectly with the Petals of Beauty bundle, too. So many flowers to be made with that one! And the Banner Sayings bundle – all sentiments (thanks, birthday, congratulations, sending love) – is just perfect – especially bundled with the go-to, workhorse Three Banner Punch! Boom!
I hope you like!
