Stampin’ Up! Charming Duck & Lily Pond Hello for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I pulled out one of the cutest bundles and papers in the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog – rightfully identifying “duck” as fitting our theme – and made a cute little card with the Charming Duck Pond bundle and Lily Pond Lake 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Take a look-see:

And here’s our challenge!

I also pulled a couple of ideas from the Tic-Tac-Toe challenge board this week.  I went down to the middle – Pattern Paper – Scoring – Circle.

I started by using Liquid Glue to adhere a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Lily Pond Lake 6″ x 6″ DSP to the front of my Balmy Blue card base.

Next, I cut the largest Stylish Shapes circle die from the center of a panel of the Lily Pond Lake 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the remainder of the panel on a Pretty in Pink mat for the card front.

I popped the matted panel onto my card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I added score lines every 1/8″ to a strip of Pretty in Pink cardstock.

I wrapped a length of Lemon Lolly Bakers’ Twine twice around the scored cardstock strip.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the strip to the card front.  Then I popped the die cut circle back in place with Stampin’ Dimensionals – making sure to line up the design on the paper.

I cut out three reeds using the die in the Charming Duck Pond set.  I cut two Granny Apple Green cardstock reeds and one from a piece of Pretty Peacock Lily Pond Lake DSP.

I adhered the three die cut reeds to the card front and then adhered a little bow tied from the Lemon Lolly Baker’s Twine with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the Charming Duck Pond sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink.  I cut it out with the next-to-smallest Stylish Shapes square die.

I adhered the sentiment over the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added some green Adhesive-backed Shiny Sequins and a few dragonflies from the Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the reeds image from Charming Duck Pond in Pretty Peacock ink on a Basic White panel.  Then I added the cattail tops in Granny Apple Green ink.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Balmy Blue card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Charming Duck Pond reeds/cattails on the front…

…and more of the Lily Pond Lake 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I think the Lily Pond Lake 6″ x 6″ DSP is just the cheeriest paper – with such cute images! – don’t you?!  And add in the fun images and sentiments from the Charming Duck Pond bundle – I LOVE the reeds and cattails! – and you’ve got a winner! 🙂
