Stampin’ Up! Friendly Fins Full of Life Thank You for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I had Friendly Fins on my desk cuz I’d used a sentiment from it for my last card, and…I thought it would be fun to use the whole bundle for TODAY’s card.  So..I did – and put together this fun little thank you card.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our sketch for today’s challenge!

I started by stamping the little trio of Friendly Fins angel-fish in Soft Sea Foam ink all over the front of a Soft Sea Foam card base.

Next, I matted some Soft Sea Foam paper from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP pack on Calypso Coral and then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I cut a few strips of the DSP in Pool Party and Lost Lagoon – I thought the pattern looked like bubbles – and adhered them to the card front with Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White – I stamped the Friendly Fins stingray – the outline in Gray Granite and the fill for him in stamped-off-once Gray Granite.  I also stamped three of the rock image in Gray Granite. Then I cut them all out with their dies in the bundled die set.

Using Stampin’ Blends, I colored the three rocks – Light Gray Granite for the rocks, Dark Soft Sea Foam for the….algae?….on the rocks.  Light Lost Lagoon and Pool Party for the wavy grass behind the rocks.

I cut out three corals from the striped Calypso Coral paper in the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP.

I started putting the “reef” together by adhering a coral to the card front with Liquid Glue – then a rock – and another coral.  Then I added the stingray with Dimensionals – and another rock with Liquid Glue.

The final coral is adhered with a Dimensional.  I used double-stacked Dimensionals to add the final rock – I think it really adds some extra dimension!

On a strip of Basic White, I stamped part of the Friendly Fins sentiment in Gray Granite ink.  Then I snipped a banner in the left end and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue – tucking it under the stingray.

I added a few – almost a BUNCH, actually! – of Iridescent Faceted Gems – and the card front was done.

On the inside, I stamped the REST of the Friendly Fins sentiment in Gray Granite on a piece of Basic White cardstock. Yes, yes – I KNOW I JUST did this sentiment but..it’s so easy and so…right! 🤷‍♀️

Then I stamped the stingray over the top in Gray Granite (full-strength for the outline and stamped-off-once for the fill).  In the corner I stamped the rock in Gray Granite and colored it as I’d done the rocks on the front.  I added a small school of Soft Sea Foam angel-fish, too.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Soft Sea Foam card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the rocks and fish on the front…

…and more Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP in Calypso Coral on the envelope flap.

Et Voila.  This is another bundle that I didn’t expect to like as much as I do.  I mean – I KNEW I’d love the Friendly Fins dolphin (which is why I got it!) but…I am coming to realize how fun ALL the images and sentiments are!
