Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop! Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! Be sure to check out everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!
I went all non-traditional colors for my card today – it’s sort of a throwback to the first Stampin’ UP! set I ever bought – Ornamental Pine. I saw a card on Pinterest with those pines heat embossed in white on a light purple card base – and…that was the beginning of my SU! journey! Today’s card uses the wunnermus Branching Out bundle – and the Traditional Labels stamp set for an additional holiday sentiment, Take a look-see:
I played along with the Just Us Girls Anything Goes Challenge, too!
I did a quick video on how to make this pretty card, which is posted on Instagram. If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!
I started by embossing a Fresh Freesia panel in the new Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder and matting it on Basic White for the card front.
Next up, I used the second-to- largest Branching Out die to cut out a Fresh Freesia panel.
I rubbed it down with my Embossing Buddy and then stamped the large branch from the set in Versamark Ink. I sprinkled it with white Basics WOW! Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.
Down in the corner, I stamped the sentiment from Branching Out in Petunia Pop ink.
When they cooled – I decided I wanted a few more fronds – so I repeated the Emboss Buddy/stamp/sprinkle/heat process a couple more times until I had it as frond-y as I wanted!
I die cut seven little pine cones using the uber-cute die in the Branching Out bundle and adhered them with Liquid Glue.
For the mat, I used the next largest Branching Out die to cut out a Basic White mat and adhered the embossed panel to it with Stampin’ Dimensionals,
I adhered the whole thing to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I added five clear Faceted Snowflakes and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped two word sentiments from the Traditional Labels set in Petunia Pop on a Basic White panel. In the corner, I stamped more Branching Out pines in Fresh Freesia.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Fresh Freesia card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Branching Out pines in Fresh Freesia on the front…
…and again on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! While Ornamental Pine was my fave stamp set in…EVER (I cried a little when it retired!) …the Branching Out set is a very VERY close second. And it has the ADDED advantage of having a most amazing die set bundled with it! It’s not a true “holiday” stamp set, though, so it’s awesome for year round projects. I made this card be all Christmas-y by calling on the Traditional Labels sentiment set! Boom!
I hope you like!
