Stampin’ Up! Artistic Leaves Celebration for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table.  I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

As the days get shorter – please notice I didn’t say cooler (summer is holding on here in GA!) – I’m starting to look for the colors to change!  Fall in GA is beautiful and the the leaves are…everywhere!  That was the inspiration behind my card today – with the Online Exclusives Artistic Leaves stamp set and Gathering Together Specialty DSP !  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our challenge (although I’m betting you’ve guessed it!).

I started by adhering a card-front sized panel of new Gathering Together Specialty DSP  to the front of a Basic Beige card base using Liquid Glue.

I used the largest Stylish Shapes square die to cut out another piece of Gathering Together Specialty DSP  – this one has some pretty gold foiling on it!  I adhered it in the corner with Liquid Glue.

Using some scrunched up Glue Dots – I adhered a new Large Gold Hoop over the Stylish Shapes square.  I LOVE these new hoops!!

To make my leaves – I used the Baby Wipe Technique.  I laid out two wipes – one for the large leaves and one for the small.  Using Ink Refills – I dropped dots of ink all over each of the wipes.

Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Timid Tiger for the large leaves.

And Mossy Meadow and Granny Apple Green for the small leaves.

With the baby wipe technique, you use the inked up wipes as your ink pad.

On a piece of Basic Beige ink, I stamped the main image for the large Artistic Leaves leaf three times – pressing the stamp into the baby wipe to ink it up.  I stamped the second image of the large leaves in the same way.  Tip: you want to clean off your stamp between each inking or…the colors will get muddy.  And – use different parts of the wipe each time you use it – that changes the colors each time you stamp!

I stamped three small leaves – using the green baby wipe for the ink pad.

Then I used scissors to cut out the six leaves.

Using Liquid Glue near the bottom of each large leaf – I adhered them to the card front.  Then I tucked the smaller leaves in – using Liquid Glue to adhere them, too.

I tied a simple bow from two lengths of black twine from the new Black & White & Gold Baker’s Twine and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

On a piece of Basic Beige cardstock, I stamped the Artistic Leaves image in Cajun Craze ink. I cut it out with the Stylish Shapes banner die.  While I was at it – I cut out a second banner from the same gold-foiled Gathering Together Specialty DSP that I’d used for the Stylish Shapes square.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the DSP banner to the back of the sentiment banner – then used double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it over the bow.

I added some new Cajun Craze & Gold Dots – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I used my baby wipe ink pads to ink and stamp the large Artistic Leaves leaf on a Basic Beige panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the inside of the Basic Beige card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the large Artistic Leaves leaf on the front…

…and more of the Gathering Together Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Like Fall is my favorite season – the Artistic Leaves stamp set is one of my faves!  I just love the big, beautiful leaves.  And the images are super easy to cut out with scissors and that’s a bonus!  The new Gathering Together Specialty DSP is…stunning!  It’s Fall-on-Paper!!
