Stampin’ Up! Not-So-Spooky Sweet Halloween Card

Happy Monday, y’all!  Ready to hit the ground running today!?  Or…are you feeling like you need to rest after your weekend!? LOL!

Just a reminder – we’ve got today and tomorrow to hit our $1000 donation goal for our Great Good fundraiser!  We’re 73% of the way, guys!  I am hopeful that we’ll get there!  If we do – we’ll have made a bit of a difference for the folks and pets in Texas – AND I’ll get to give away a brand new Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine!  I WANT to give away that Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, y’all! So, do me a solid! 🙂

My card today is a not-very-spooky at all Halloween Card – created with the Spooky Halloween bundle and fun Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP!  Both are new Online Exclusives – and they’re super fun!  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I did a quick video on how to make this fun and uber-spooky card, which is posted on Instagram.  If you’d like to give that a watch – click here!

I started by tearing a piece of Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP to make the “ground”.  I used a piece slightly larger than I wanted the final measurement to be and then adhered it to the bottom of my 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP.  I cut the excess off with my Paper Snips.

I did a similar technique to create the “moon” – cutting some Pumpkin Pie Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP using the largest Stylish Shapes circle die.  Then I adhered it in the top corner with Liquid Glue – and trimmed the excess with scissors.

Then I matted the panel on Lemon Lolly to create the card front.

I used the dies in the Spooky Halloween set to cut out a Basic Black house, three bats and the picket fence.

I adhered the house to a piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock with Liquid Glue – and then I snipped off the excess.

I used Black Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the house to the card front.

I adhered the die cut fence with Liquid Glue and popped the die cut bats on with a Black Stampin’ Dimensional.

On one of the die cuts from the Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP, I stamped the Spooky Halloween sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.  Then I popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added seven of the white Shimmer Star Foam Stickers (I LOVE these!) and the card front was done.

Tip: the Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP has a TON of cool die cuts – like the one I used for the sentiment.  I popped all of them out of their DSP and store them in a Stamp Case!  That way I can keep them corralled!

On the inside, I stamped a Spooky Halloween sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Lemon Lolly panel.  I used the next-to-largest Stylish Shapes circle die to cut another moon from the Pumpkin Pie Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP.  I stamped a whole CLOUD of Spooky Halloween bats (that’s what their called!) in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on the moon and adhered it to the panel with Liquid Glue.  Then I trimmed the excess with my Paper Snips – and added a few of the Shimmer Star Foam Stickers

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel inside my Basic Black card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the cloud of Spooky Halloween bats on the front…

…and more of the Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I know I’ve said I don’t make a lot of Halloween cards but…I seem to be enamored with the little haunted house in the Spooky Halloween set!  And the Spooky Sweet Specialty DSP is too fun – all those cool die cuts waiting to go to work for you!  And – as I’ve ALSO mentioned – there’s not going to be Halloween goodies in the new Mini Catalog (coming out in September) so…if you’re a Halloween card sender…this would be a good set to add to your stash!  You’ll find the whole suite in the Online Exclusives section of the Online Store!

I hope you like!

And – here’s another opportunity to help – a hands-on way!

A friend from that area told me that the local Kerrville animal shelter is actively seeking folks who would be willing and able to adopt pets who have become parent-less as a result of the flooding.  So sad.  If it’s in your heart and you are able – here’s a link for you.
