Stampin’ Up! Storybook Moments with Friends Z-Fold Card

Happy Happy Last-Hawwmp-Day-of-January, y’all! 🙂  Hope the week has gone well so far and that the tail-end of it looks to be good, too!

My card today is a super simple – but totally awesome! – fun fold – it’s a simple Z-fold card.  It gave me lots of space to showcase my fave paper design from the Storybook Moments Specialty DSP (not to mention a bunch of fun die cuts that are PART of that paper!).  And – I added a sentiment from the Storybook Friends stamp set.  Take a look-see:

I borrowed some elements from the Festive Friday Inspo list (white, Pearls, Fancy Fold)

And I used a stencil (we call them Decorative Masks here at Stampin’ Up!) for the Just Us Girls Challenge.

I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic Beige cardstock that I scored and folded on the long side at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″.  Then I folded the 2 3/4″ score line as a mountain and the 5 1/2″ as a valley to make the Z-fold.

I matted a piece of strawberry-strewn paper from the Storybook Moments Specialty DSP on a Cherry Cobbler mat and then adhered it to the small front panel of the z-fold with Liquid Glue.

For the back (inside) panel, I adhered a second piece of strawberry-strewn Storybook Moments Specialty DSP to the right side of a Cherry Cobbler mat using Liquid Glue.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere a die cut strawberry bundle (from the die cut sheets in the Storybook Moments Specialty DSP) on a Basic White panel.

I adhered the panel on the other side of the Cherry Cobbler mat and then onto the back (inside) panel of the card base.

For the front panel, I stamped the Storybook Friends sentiment in Cherry Cobbler on a Basic Beige panel.

I put one of the Linked Together Decorative Masks in place and used Small Blending Brushes to add Boho Blue ink (lightly!!) to the top part of the panel and Basic Beige on the lower half.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the panel to a Cherry Cobbler mat.

I selected some die cut images from one of the two sheets of die cuts in the Storybook Moments Specialty DSP.  Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the nicely-dressed tall ewe, the cattail die cut and the white picket fence.

Then I added a flower die cut (in front of the ewe) and a grasses image (on the right) with more Liquid Glue.

I added the final bush and the sweet duck with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Liquid Glue on the left side of the panel, I adhered it to the front panel of the z-fold.

I added a few Antique Pearls and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got another of the die cut strawberries from the Storybook Moments Specialty DSP adhered on the front…

…and more of the Storybook Moments Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  So…I admit – this Storybook Moments Specialty DSP was one that I was sort of…meh!…about.  Those little characters – I thought – just weren’t for me.  But –  I was wrong.  The paper is gorgeous and the die cuts are darling.  There.  I said it.  I.  Was.  Wrong.  Don’t gloat!

The Storybook Friends stamp set has it’s own cute critter images and sweet, delicate sentiments to go along with the paper!  And the Linked Together Decorative Masks added a really nice touch – and I only used ONE of the five masks! This card is a good reminder to look at ALL the tools in your arsenal – a stamp set from this bundle, masks from another.  You HAVE it, so…use it ALL, people! 🙂
