Good morning and happy first-Monday-after-the-time change. I think it’s a little easier getting up in the morning these first few days but…having it get SO dark SO early just kicks my hindquarters. Wanting to go to bed at 6….just ain’t fittin’!! 🤦♀️
My card today is a bright and cheerful birthday card that I made for… a little friend of mine who has a birthday….TODAY! 🙂 Happy THIRD birthday, Juliette! I used some Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP to set the fun mood – then added a die cut sentiment from the Wanted To Say die set. The Hooray for Surprises stamp set and coordinating dies added a fun smattering of hearts and flowers. And – I made two versions – one uses a die cut number from the Alphabet A La Mode set. Take a look-see:
The layout is from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge today.
I started by adhering a star-strewn piece of the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6′ DSP on a Berry Burst mat for the card front. Using the second-from-largest Deckled Rectangle die, I cut out a Lemon Lolly design from the pack and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I put some Adhesive-sheet on the back of a piece of Bubble Bath cardstock and then cut out the Happy Birthday sentiment with the die from the Wanted to Say set.
I used the Adhesive-sheet to adhere the two die cut sentiment words at the top of the panel.
I pulled out the Hooray for Surprises dies and cut a bunch of fun elements!
– A solid Lemon Lolly heart
– A Bubble Bath heart with polka-dots holes in it (I placed the hole-y heart die inside the solid heart die and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine at the same time)
– A solid Berry Burst Glimmer Specialty heart
– Two small flowers – one in Bubble Bath and one in Lemon Lolly
– One bough in Lemon Lime Twist
– Three leaves in Granny Apple Green
– Two of the smallest flowers in Berry Burst Glimmer Specialty paper
I also cut a couple of small flowers from the Wanted to Say die set – one in Lemon Lolly and one in Bubble Bath.
I adhered the hole-y Bubble Bath heart to the solid Berry Burst Glimmer Paper heart using Liquid Glue. Then I built two flowers – stacking the die cut pieces together – with the small Berry Burst Glimmer Paper flower on the top.
I adhered the Bubble Bath/Berry Burst heart with Liquid Glue – then added the solid Lemon Lolly heart with Dimensionals.
I tucked the remaining elements into the collage using Liquid Glue.
I added some Bubble Bath Rainbow Adhesive-backed Dots and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped a Hooray for Surprises sentiment in Bubble Bath ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. I added the large flower in Lemon Lolly over the top.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel inside the Bubble Bath card base and the card was done.
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Hooray for Surprises flower in Lemon Lolly on the front…
…and more of the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! How fun is this?! The Hooray for Surprises dies add so much fun to a card front that was ALREADY cheerful as can be thanks to the Bright & Beautiful 6″ x 6″ DSP! I love the die cut sentiment from the Wanted to Say set, don’t you?
I hope you like! 🙂
Now – if you’re interested in adding a little personal touch for your recipient – check out the Alphabet A La Mode die set! I used it to cut a “3” from some Berry Burst Glimmer Specialty Paper – and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
And then I stamped the little candle from Hooray for Surprises three times in Berry Burst (candle) and Lemon Lolly (flame) on the inside panel and the front of the Medium Envelope.
I think she’ll like it – and so will YOUR recipient when you make it!
