Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a Sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table. I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
Today’s the LAST DAY to getcha some Sale-A-Bration goodies and…the Watercolor Melon and Softly Sophisticated Bundles are two that you might consider! Combine those with some Sunny Days DSP and you’ll be ready to make the card I’ve got for you today. Take a look-see:
And – here’s our sketch!
I started by matting some flowerdy Sunny Days DSP on a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock for the card front. I matted a strip of a second design on Poppy Parade and adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.
On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the full melon image and the two rind images from Watercolor Melon in Shaded Spruce ink.
I added some Crushed Curry ink to the inner portion of the full melon image using a Small Blending Brush and stamped it over the top of the first image.
I stamped the wedge and half melon images in Poppy Parade ink.
I added some seeds in Tuxedo Black to the wedge and half melon.
Then I used Paper Snips to fussy cut the partial melon pieces and the Modern Oval Punch to cut out the full melon. I adhered the full melon – and then the two pieces – to the card front with Liquid Glue.
I tied a bow with two lengths of Parakeet Party twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine and adhered it with Liquid Glue.
I stamped the sentiment from Softly Sophisticated in Crushed Curry on Basic White and cut it with the smallest Perennial Postage die. Then I adhered it over the bow with double-stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added some dragonflies from the Adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds and some Brushed Brass Butterflies (there’s never enough pollinators, right!?) and the card front was done.
On the inside, I stamped the half-melon in Shaded Spruce, Poppy Parade and Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a Basic White panel. A Brushed Brass Butterfly flits about to finish it off.
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Poppy Parade mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Watercolor Melon piece on the front…
…and more of the Sunny Days DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! Be sure that you’ve got the Watercolor Melon set (free TODAY with a $50 order!) so that you can make summer-on-a-card! And the Softly Sophisticated Bundle (free with a $100 order) is a stamp set/embossing folder bundle that will be a long-time staple in your craft room! The Sunny Days DSP…free with a $50 order..is so cheerful and colorful and fun!!
I hope you like!
