Stampin’ Up! A Big Sweet Citrus Squeeze for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a great sketch challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I pulled out the cool – and super summery! – Sweet Citrus Bundle for this one – and paired it with some Night of Navy paper from the Regency Park 6″ x 6″ DSP.  Take a look-see:

And – here’s our sketch!

I started by adhering a panel of Regency Park 6″ x 6″ DSP to the front AND inside of a Night of Navy card base using Liquid Glue.  Before I adhered the panel on the front, I used the…FOURTH-from-largest Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out from the center of the panel.

I used the THIRD-from-Largest Stitched Rectangle Die to cut out a Basic White panel and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the card front.  Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the cut-out Regency Park DSP Stitched Rectangle over the top.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the “peel” image from Sweet Citrus in Daffodil Delight ink.  I stamped the innards in Polished Pink.

I lined up the stamped images on the inside of the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder and embossed it.  Then I cut out the images with the coordinating die.  Note: you can do these two steps at the same time if you prefer – that’s the beauty of a “hybrid” embossing folder!

I stamped three Granny Apple Green and two Garden Green Sweet Citrus leaves on Basic White and cut them out.  I did the same with the small flowers – there’s three flowers on the stamp, and I stamped it once in Daffodil Delight and once in Polished Pink – and cut them with their dies!

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the fruit and leaves to the card front.

On another piece of Basic White, I stamped the Sweet Citrus sentiment in Night of Navy ink and cut it out with the smallest of the “wider” Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I popped the sentiment onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I added three of the little flowers using Dimensionals and a little Liquid Glue!

I added some white Enamel Dot Essentials to the card front and some Adhesive-backed Milky Dots – Night of Navy on the sentiment and Mango Melody in the middle of the flowers – and the card front was done!

For the inside, I cut out a next-to-largest Stitched Rectangle from Basic White cardstock. In the corner, I stamped the Sweet Citrus images in Daffodil Delight and Polished Pink.

I adhered the panel to the inside of the card base – already prepped with the piece of Regency Park DSP! – and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Sweet Citrus images on the front….

…and more of the Regency Park 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Everything about this card says CRISP to me!  The pinks and bright greens and whites against the Night of Navy Regency Park 6″ x 6′ DSP is so classic.  And when I look at the Sweet Citrus images in Polished Pink – my mouth just waters!!  🙂
