Stampin’ Up! Splendid Thoughts in Triple Time!

Good morning and happy Hawwmp Day!  That ole MikeMikeMike just keeps showing up! 🙂

So – I have some exciting news…we decided yesterday that Wayne’s going to go down to OnStage with me in November and then – on the Sunday after the event – we’re going to drive the additional 2 1/2 hours south to Orlando and the Home of the Mouse!  Yep – going to DinneyWorld!  AND – maybe even to Universal for a day.  Star Wars – Guardians of the Galaxy – HogWarts – Soaring – Mission to Mars – here we come!!  I’ve been wanting to go back for a while and…this seemed like a great time to do it!  Whoo-hoo!!

Okay.  Back to bizness!  Today’s card is a CASE of another card from this past weekend – and AGAIN from Karen Ksenzacovic!!  Her card reminded me how much I love the Triple Time Technique.  So…out it came – with the sweet Splendid Thoughts stamp set taking center stage.  Take a look-see:

This is a really cool – and surprisingly easy!! – technique!  Here we go!

I started by stamping the sentiment from Splendid Thoughts in Mango Melody in the corner of a small Very Vanilla panel.

Using some repositionable tape runner (you can use a dab of Liquid Glue or a little bit of Stampin’ Seal, too) – I stacked my three Very Vanilla panels on top of my work surface – in the same layout that I wanted on the card front.

Then I stamped the other images from the set – the large leaf in Evening Evergreen for the outline and Soft Succulent for the fill.  The smaller leaf has a Soft Succulent outline and Soft Sea Foam fill.  I made sure to “cross” the boundaries of each layer several times – that’s the fun of the Triple Time!

I added the little bee from Splendid Thoughts in Tuxedo Black – coloring his body with the Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Marker.

With all the stamping done, I matted each panel on Evening Evergreen cardstock using Stampin’ Seal.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the matted panels back in place – I used the Liquid Glue so I’d have a little wiggle room and to ensure I was able to get the panels right where I wanted them.

And – uh…yeah.  That was it for the card front!

I TOLD you is was super easy!! 😉

On the inside, I added the large and small leaves from Splendid Thoughts – using the same color palette – on a Very Vanilla panel.  I stamped the little bee, too – coloring him with the Crushed Curry Marker.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to an Evening Evergreen mat and into my Mango Melody card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Very Vanilla Medium Envelope got the Splendid Thoughts leaves on the front….

…and the little bee on the envelope flap!

Et Voila!  Right?!?  Such a fun technique, don’t you think?  Karen’s card used the Forever Fern set…

…and it’s so cool how the exact same layout gets an entirely new look just by changing up the stamp set and color palette!  I love the artsy foliage images in the Splendid Thoughts stamp set – and I think they were perfect with the Triple Time Technique, don’t you?!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Aunty Karen coming last week was a BIG moment for Finn.

ONLY my return on Sunday was better!

But – it was a close call, I think….
