Stampin’ Up! Best Witches Peek-A-Boo Window Card with Video Tutorial

Good morning, y’all!  Happy Friday! 🙂

Yesterday was Christmas-in-July so…it only makes sense that TODAY be HALLOWEEN-in-July!  Like all my Halloween cards – this one is not at ALL scary!  I used the fun Best Witches stamp set and some cool Black & White Designs DSP to make it AND it’s a peek-a-boo window card, too!  Take a look-see:

I think this is a perfect Halloween card for a kiddo, don’t you?? 🙂  Which means I hit the nail on the head for The Paper Players theme challenge.

I made this card yesterday on my Facebook live video – if you were able to join me – awesome!  If not but you’d like to watch – here ’tis on YouTube!

I started with a piece of the Black & White Designs DSP and a Crushed Curry mat.  I arranged the two pieces together just like they’d be on the card front, but without adhering them together.  Then I placed the next-to-smallest circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set in the bottom right corner and ran it thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine to create the first part of the window.

Then I placed the two pieces of top of my Granny Apple Green card base – placed the die back in the hole I’d created and ran it back thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.

That didn’t fully cut the hole from the card base (too thick), so I took off the DSP and mat panels, replaced the die and ran it thru again.

Totally confused?  Sorry.  Check the video – I promise it’ll make sense when you do! 🙂

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Black & White Designs DSP to the Crushed Curry mat and then to the front of the Granny Apple Green card base – making sure that all three die cut holes lined up.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the cute little witch from Best Witches in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink – then I cut her out with the largest Stylish Shapes square die.  While I had the die handy, I also cut out a Crushed Curry square – which I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I colored the image with Stampin’ Blends – in Smoky Slate (hat, cape & cauldron), Fresh Freesia (hair), Polished Pink (dress and apron), Orchid Oasis (stockings), Soft Suede (logs), Daffodil Delight (flames and buckle on hat) and Pumpkin Pie (bottom of flames).  Her face I colored with the Old Olive Watercolor Pencil.

I stamped the stars from Best Witches around her head in Crushed Curry – then I adhered the square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment in Granny Apple Green and cut each word out individually – edged them both with my Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Marker – and adhered them with Liquid Glue.

I added a few 2022-2024 In Color Matte Dots – in Parakeet Party – over the stamped “bubbles” above the cauldron – and a tiny Orchid Oasis dot as her teeny earring – and the card front was done!

To create the inside, I layered up a piece of Basic White with a Crushed Curry mat – not adhering them together yet – and set it in place inside the card.  With the card base closed, I stamped the super-adorable frog from Best Witches in Tuxedo Black – right thru the hole in the card front!

I colored him with my Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and added a little “ground” with the Polished Pink Blend.

I stamped the sentiment from Best Witches in Polished Pink on the inner liner – and again in Granny Apple Green on a seperate piece of cardstock.  I snipped out the Granny Apple Green word “Spell” with my Paper Snips – edged it with the Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Marker – and popped it into place with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  A few more Crushed Curry stars finished it off.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to the Crushed Curry mat and into the card base and the card was done!

My Basic White Medium Envelope got that little frog (I love this guy so much!!) and some stars on the front…

…and more Black & White Designs DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I don’t care if you’re not into Halloween – if you’re into “cute” and fun” – then the Best Witches set is an obvious choice for the young and young-at-heart ghosties and ghoulies in your life!  And…have I mentioned THE FROG?!?!  🥰🥰🥰

I hope you like!
