Good morning, y’all! It’s Tuesday – and I’m excited to be taking part in a brand new Blog Hop! This one is ALL about the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog! All us hoppers picked a new stamp set or bundle from the catalog – going live on 3 May! – and made a card using that product. So…you’ll see a lot of great ideas today and get some inspiration (and…maybe a NEW goodie to put on your Shopping List!) 😎 I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
When I first saw the new Sweet Songbirds bundle – it’ll be bundled with the Songbird Builder Punch! – I sort of thought it was too cartoony. I sort of said…”meh”. But – I pre-ordered it anyway (cuz…that’s pretty much how I roll!) and…boy. Am I glad that I did! It is SO stinkin’ cute, y’all! And – I thought there were some really sweet papers in the new Hues of Happiness DSP that would go perfectly with it. So…take a look-see:
The layout is from the sketch side of the FUSION challenge!
I started by adhering a piece of Basic White cardstock to a Granny Apple Green mat with Liquid Glue to make the card front.
I matted two designs from the Hues of Happiness DSP on Granny Apple Green and then adhered them with Liquid Glue.
I used the largest circle die from the new and STUPENDOUSLY wonderful Stylish Shapes dies to cut out a Basic White circle.
In Soft Suede, I stamped the branch from the Sweet Songbirds set across the circle.
I added some leaves in Granny Apple Green and the “pointing to the right” bird feet in Soft Suede. Then I set the circle in place (without adhering it) and stamped the sweet notes image a couple of times in Flirty Flamingo – letting them “spill” off the circle and onto the card front.
I also added the Sweet Songbirds sentiment in Flirty Flamingo – then I popped the circle onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On another piece of Basic White, I stamped one of the birds from the Sweet Songbirds set in new Sweet Sorbet. I used the belly-filler stamp and the beak-filler stamp in Daffodil Delight and added eyes in Tuxedo Black. I also stamped a Sweet Sorbet “wing”.
Then…I punched the body and the wing with the bundled Songbird Builder Punch!
I adhered the little guy with Liquid Glue and added the punched out wing with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Some Brushed Brass Butterflies seemed like the perfect finishing touch, so…I added some and the card front was done!
On the inside, I stamped a second Sweet Songbirds sentiment in Flirty Flamingo on a Basic White panel. I added the branch and “left-facing-feet” in Soft Suede, leaves in Granny Apple Green, the second bird image in Sweet Sorbet and Daffodil Delight, “eyelashes”(🥰🥰🥰) in Tuxedo Black and notes in Flirty Flamingo. And..NOT adding some Brushed Brass Butterflies?? Nope. Had to do it!
I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Granny Apple Green mat and into my Flirty Flamingo card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Sweet Songbirds branch, leaves and notes (I LOVE the notes!!) on the front…
…and more Hues of Happiness DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! C’mon! This Sweet Songbirds bundle is so darned cute I can hardly stand it! I love the music, the little bird (with his wing and eyelashes!) and the fun leaves. And there are more great sentiments, too! Having the Songbird Builder punch is just the icing on the cake.
And…Hues of Happiness DSP. Oh. My. Goodness. There are SO MANY gorgeous papers in the pack – you might as well just get TWO on the 3rd! Just sayin’! 😉
