Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Crane of Fortune for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all!  It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop!  We’ve got a theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!

I’m not going to say that, when I saw our theme, my brain jumped right to the stamp set that I picked for my card.  But – it only took a few minutes of browsing my stamp shelves for things to click into place.  I pulled out the Crane of Fortune stamp set from the mini catalog and the Watercolor Shapes set (in the current Annual Catalog – AND carrying over into the NEW Annual, too!!).  And…I dressed it all in a few new 2022-2024 In Colors!  Take a look-see:

And…here’s our theme!

I borrowed the layout from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week.

I started by adhering some Parakeet Party paper from the new 2022-2024 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on a piece of Basic Black for the card front.

Y’all – I am LOVING the new patterns for our color family DSP packs!  I used the 2022-2024 In Color pack, but…ALL the color families will be refreshed with the new patterns.

On a smaller Basic White panel, I stamped the rectangular shape from Watercolor Shapes in oh-so-pretty Tahitian Tide.

The sweet little leaves image is from Crane of Fortune – and I stamped it twice in new Parakeet Party (LOVE this new green!).  Then I added the double-dragonfly image from the set – twice! – in Starry Sky ink.

I inked and stamped the Crane of Fortune sentiment in Starry Sky ink.

I pulled out my Starry Sky Stampin’ Write Marker (remember my foot-stomper-suggestion….when you buy the ink pad, just go ahead and get the refill and the Stampin’ Write Marker right at the same time.  You will NEVER regret doing that, I promise!).

Using the fine-tip end, I added some faux stitching around the watercolor block.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and popped it onto the card front with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, I added a few 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots (available 3 May) in Tahitian Tide and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Crane of Fortune sentiment in Starry Sky on a Basic White panel.  I added the leaves in Parakeet Party and the dragonflies in Tahitian Tide.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Basic Black mat and into my Thick Basic White card base, popped the card front on with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Parakeet Party leaf and Tahitian Tide dragonflies from Crane of Fortune on the front…

…and added more Parakeet Party 2022-2024 In Color 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Okay – I’m already loving EVERY SINGLE new 2022-2024 In Color!  ALL of them – and they coordinate SOOO well with each other, don’t you think?! And the new patterns in the color family DSPs are wunnermus.  Watercolor Shapes – which is carrying over (which means you can get it RIGHT NOW!) is too fun and lets you add watercolor elements without all the extra water!  Now – Crane of Fortune.  It is NOT in the new annual catalog.  That doesn’t mean it won’t carry over into a later catalog but…why risk that?  If you love this serene stamp set – get it right now.  Maybe today – with free shipping!? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I hope you like!
