Stampin’ Up! Happy & Heartfelt Crane of Fortune Congratulations

Happy Happy Hawwwmp Day!!  We’re on the downhill slide to your weekend again!  Are you snapping up those new Stampin’ Blends?!?  I sure hope so – cuz they’re pretty darned cool!

I made a fun and pretty card for you today – really channeling my collage-maker-soul!  I pulled out the Crane of Fortune bundle – with it’s elegant florals and…well….CRANE!  And the gorgeous, coordinating Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP.  Then I added a pretty sentiment from the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set – cuz it had the one I needed!  Take a look-see:

The layout was inspired by the CASE The Designer challenge over at the Global Design Project this week!

And my color palette is from the Cupcake Inspiration challenge.

I started by adhering a full size panel of the pretty Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP to the front of a Blushing Bride card base, using Liquid Glue.

Then I cut a second design with the next-to-largest die in the Scalloped Contours Dies.  Y’all – if you do NOT have this set of dies…just get them, okay?  They’re awesome! 😉

I adhered that to the card front at a jaunty angle, using Liquid Glue.

Using the same Scalloped Contours die, I cut a piece of Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper, embossed it in the Gingham Embossing Folder and adhered it with more Liquid Glue.  Note: when I added the die cuts, I cheated them up toward the top left corner of the card front. 🙂

Using my Stamparatus, I used the ink pad and a Sponge Dauber (this is a distINKtive set – so tap-tap-tapping the stamp with an inked Dauber really helps to make the image POP!) to ink the gorgeous flower from Crane of Fortune in Blushing Bride.  I stamped a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then I used a second dauber to add some Calypso Coral ink in the middle of the flower and stamped it again.

I used the same method to stamp the crane – using Smoky Slate for the main color and Basic Gray to add some darker areas on the wings and neck of the bird.

I cut both images with their matching dies from the bundled Good Fortune die set.

I stamped the leaf image twice in full strength Mint Macaron – and once in stamped-off-once Mint Macaron – and cut them with the matching die.  And – I used two more dies to cut a couple of Mint Macaron cardstock and Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper leaves.

I stacked the elements and then adhered them all with Liquid Glue.

I cut a narrow strip of the Mother of Pearl paper, snipped banner ends, and adhered it over the flower and crane with Liquid Glue.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp a Happy & Heartfelt sentiment in Mint Macaron on a piece of the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP (same design as the die cut panel) and then cut it out with the smallest skinny Stitched Rectangle die.

I popped the sentiment over the Mother of Pearl strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the adorable dragonflies in Basic Gray on Basic White, cut them with the matching die (LOVE!) – and popped them on with a couple of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a few of the pink-ish Polished Dots – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped the Crane of Fortune flower in Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral – using the Stamparatus and the sponge daubering inking method that I’d used for the card front flower.  I added the little dragonflies in Smoky Slate and a pink-ish Polished Dot.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Mint Macaron mat and into the Blushing Bride card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Crane of Fortune flower and dragonflies on the front…

…and a little more of the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I love the Symbols of Fortune Specialty DSP – it’s so soft and pretty – with the addition of some pops of gold foil here and there!  Just a lovely base for the pretty images (that FLOWER!!) in the Crane of Fortune set.  I love the fun Good Fortune Dies, too – being able to cut so many leaves, in addition to the stamped images – is a real bonus. It’s got great sentiments, too – but…don’t be afraid to pull from a different set – like I did with the Happy & Heartfelt set here – if you don’t see what you need for your card!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

The other opposable-thumb resident is…getting a little lax in the gate department. 🤷‍♀️

As I was working at my desk yesterday I heard….clippity-clop-clippity-clop….outside the window.

I took a quick peek in time to see a blond butt go sashaying by.

I left the herder-dog barking wildly in the house and stepped outside.

One pony.

Mama Cerah.

Cady…MIA.

Finally – Cady called her Mama (JIC we’d snuck her into a horse trailer and taken her away somewhere!) and I was able to zero in on her position.

Tally ho!

We left them to their perambulatings – they’re on the hunt for ANYTHING green right now (a girl can’t live on horse feed, a ton of hay, peppermints, and the occasion apple core chopped fine, after all!).

But – it was finally time to get them corralled to feed.  Golf cart and a bucket of feed.  Green schmeen – he’s got FOOD!

WHEW!  Safely back in the pasture!

Finn was very relieved that the natural order of things had been restored. 😉
