Good morning, y’all! It’s Thursday – which means it’s time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop – the LAST ONE OF 2021!! 😳😳😳 We’ve got a Theme challenge to work with and I’m excited to see what everyone brings to the table – I just know you’re going to see a ton of awesome-ness on the hop today!
Our challenge this week was right up my alley! So I pulled out one of my fave folds and a new (and super pretty!) suite of goodies from the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog (you can get it next TUESDAY!!). The Love & Happiness bundle – with the stunning Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder (which is a die set AND 3D Embossing Folder that works together!), plus some Sweet Talk DSP and a smidge of help from the Sweet Conversations stamp set…all came together on my Criss-Cross Fun Fold! Take a look-see:
Obvs, our theme challenge is…Fun Folds!
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Blushing Bride cardstock, scored at 5 1/2″ on the long side. Then I used my Paper Trimmer to cut on the diagonal on one of the panels – and kept the cut off triangle for use on the card.
I used my Paper Trimmer to cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Real Red across the diagonal to make two triangles. I did the same with 3 3/4″ x 5″ panels of two different designs from the Sweet Talk DSP. I ended up with four triangles – two of which I used on this card and the other two I saved for future Criss-Cross cards! 🙂
Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the DSP triangles to the Real Red triangles. Then I used Liquid Glue to adhere the Highland Heather triangle to the front triangle on the card base.
With more Liquid Glue, I adhered the remaining triangle to the card front – aligning the bottom and right side – to complete the card base.
I ran a Basic White panel thru the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine in the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder. Then I matted the panel on Real Red and used Liquid Glue to adhere it to the inside of the card.
I stamped a Love & Happiness sentiment on a piece of Basic White and used the large heart die from the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder set to cut it out. I adhered it to the center of the inner liner with Liquid Glue.
I used the large heart again to cut a Real Red heart, then I embossed it in the Bouquet of Love Folder. Using Liquid Glue, I adhered it in the center of the criss-cross – being sure to cover the embossed heart on the inner liner.
I stamp a small Love & Happiness sentiment in Real Red on Basic White and cut it with the smaller heart in the Bouquet Of Love set. I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I cut some So Saffron flowers and Granny Apple Green leaves and used Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them to the card front. A small Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the middle of each flower finished off the card front.
To give some un-embossed space for a message, I adhered a Basic White triangle to a Real Red mat. In the corner, I stamped a Sweet Conversations heart in Highland Heather and adhered it to the inner liner with Liquid Glue.
I added an Iridescent Rhinestone on the larger heart on the inner liner and the card was done!
My Basic White Medium Envelope got some Sweet Conversations hearts in Highland Heather on the front…
…and more of the Sweet Talk DSP on the envelope flap.
Et Voila! I think this criss-cross card is so fun – and it’s a super easy way to add some POW to a card project! And…decorated for Valentine’s Day (or an Anniversary!!) with the Bouquet of Love Bundle (how COOL is that Hybrid Embossing Folder?!?) and Sweet Talk DSP…it’s awesome (it REALLY lets the DSP shine, don’t you think?). I also like the fun little Sweet Conversations hearts with their messages of love, like and HUGS!
