Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Christmas Trees Let Your Heart Be Light

Good morning and welcome to another week.  You’ll be glad to know that Finn had a great Gotcha-Day weekend.  Yesterday he got to ride to two DIFFERENT Home Depots – and go in BOTH times!  It was a dog’s dream!  Even the slightly rude dog in the second store couldn’t dampen the happiness of my kid!  I will say though that, whatever that handsome husky said…it was…not nice!  Finn got serious FAST!  He didn’t start it but…he was for sure going to FINISH it!  Whatever HE said back shut that other dog up but QUICK! 😉  All of which makes my “no sniffing or greeting on a leash” rule even more sacred!

So – my card today takes us back to Christmas (which is – yes…only SEVENTY days away! 😳) and the wunnermus Whimsical Trees bundle and coordinating Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP (one of my fave DSPs of all time – whoda thunk it?!?).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one comes from the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week.

I started with some snowflake-strewn paper from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP that I matted on Misty Moonlight for the card front.

Then I used a Rectangle Stitched Die to cut some Mossy Meadow design DSP – that I adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

Note: this graphic shows the different Rectangle Stitched Dies I used on this card!

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere two lengths of Blushing Bride 3/8″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon to the card front

I cut another piece of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP (the striped design) with a Stitched Rectangle Die and popped it over the ribbons with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered a Wonderful Snowflakes embellishment to the striped DSP.

There are two super-cute tree dies in the Christmas Trees die set – and I used them to cut two (one of each size) from Misty Moonlight cardstock and one of the larger ones from Mint Macaron.   I also stamped the small tree from Whimsical Trees in Mint Macaron on Basic White and cut it with its matching die from the Christmas Trees set.

I adhered the trees to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I stamped the Whimsical Trees sentiment in Misty Moonlight on Basic White and cut it with the smallest, narrow die in the Stitched Rectangle Die set (see the graphic).  I popped this over the little collage with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a little silver bow from the twine in the Simply Elegant Trim pack and adhered it with a dab of Liquid Glue.  Then I added some Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the card front was done!

On the inside, I stamped a second Whimsical Trees sentiment in Misty Moonlight on Basic White.  I added the little tree in the corner in Mint Macaron and gave it a Champagne Rhinestone “star”.

I used Stampin’ Seal to adhere the panel to a Misty Moonlight panel and into my Mint Macaron card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Mint Macaron Whimsical Trees tree on the front…

…and more of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I LOVE this Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP – and this layout really let me use a lot of it!  The Whimsical Trees stamp set – with the bundled Christmas Trees die set – is so fun!  I love the images and the sweet, delicate sentiments!  And the dies even include GARLAND dies for the trees. Cool!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

So…the other night…I get back to the house – Finn had beat me (that happens a lot).

I see…SOMETHING…sticking out of his mouth.

I stop well short and attempt to discern what the SOMETHING is.

Too far away.

Had to get closer.

Is it…a mouse?  A…gulp…snake?

After much squinting – all while saying “no…STAY…noooooSTAY….nooooooooooSTAAAAAAAY!!” a lot…

…I identified the SOMETHING.

A horse hoof paring.

Not sure where he found it, cuz it’s been a minute since the shoer was here.

But…I was SO happy that the SOMETHING was not a…living…gift!
