Stampin’ Up! Delicate Dahlias Sneak Peek for the Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good morning, y’all – welcome to another edition of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team blog hop!  Each month we make projects centered around a theme – and this month our theme is Celebrate Summer!  We can interpret that any way we want – so…be sure to check and see everyone’s projects – we’ve got a bunch of talented ladies hopping with us this month!

For me – summer means picking and eating juicy raspberries and Sweetheart tomatoes right from the vine and…daily inspections of the vegetable garden for bugs – Japanese beetles and…the dreaded and really-seriously-ugly hornworms! 😉

THAT didn’t seem like a very good creative inspiration for a card – so…I went with the way nicer meaning for me…flowers!  I’ve got flowers blooming and bees buzzing.   To that end – I decided to use the Delicate Dahlias stamp set – one of the sweet products you’ll be able to pick for FREE with a $100 purchase during Sale-A-Bration (Aug – Sep).  I also used the new Timber 3D Embossing Folder – from the new Jul – Dec 2021 Mini Catalog.  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one was inspired by this week’s TGIF sketch challenge.

I started with a piece of Basic White card that I embossed in the awesome Timber 3D Embossing Folder (you’ll be able to get this on 3 Aug…and you’re going to WANT it!).  Then I matted it on Granny Apple Green for the card front.

I took a 3″ x 3 7/8″ piece of In Good Taste DSP (on sale right now – thru the end of the month – with a 15% savings!) and cut it at an angle – then adhered it to the card front with Liquid Glue.  Note: the “tall” side is 3″ and the short side is 1″. 😉

I used a couple of Glue Dots to adhere a length of Flirty Flamingo 1/4″ Gold Metallic Ribbon over the seam.

I adhered a gold foil hexagonal die cut from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack with a little Liquid Glue.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the outline image for the Delicate Dahlia flower in Flirty Flamingo.  Then I added the fill image – also in Flirty Flamingo.

So – here’s a tip for when you get this set for FREE come August.  Make a note when you first open the stamp case of where “up” is on both the outline and fill images.  That will help IMMENSELY in lining them up.  Once you know that – mark the stamp with a little permanent marker dot.

And don’t forget to “refresh” your dot every once in a while! 😉

I also stamped two leaf images – using Granny Apple Green for the outline and for the fill.

Then I fussy cut all three images.

Using Liquid Glue, I adhered the two leaves and a couple of “berry sprays”  to the card front.  I used a Glue Dot to adhere a folded length of the Flirty Flamingo 1/4″ Gold Metallic Ribbon.

Then I popped the flower over top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a sentiment from Delicate Dahlia in Granny Apple Green on Basic White cardstock and cut it with a die from the Tasteful Labels die set.  Then I adhered another Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack leaf die cut with Liquid Glue and popped the sentiment on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The final touch is some sequins from the Ephemera Pack that I colored with my Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend Marker – and the card front was done!

On the inside, I added the small flower from Delicate Dahlia in Flirty Flamingo and the tiny leaf in Granny Apple Green.  These are both two-step images.  I added clear Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack sequins to the middle of the flowers and Flirty Flamingo-colored sequins around them.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Granny Apple Green mat and into my Daffodil Delight card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got Delicate Dahlias flowers and leaves on the front…

…and more In Good Taste DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  How pretty is this beautiful Delicate Dahlias flower?  I love how a single fill image yields such gorgeous shading!  And…In Good Taste DSP – well, it’s a classic and a super-amazing-value right now!

I hope you like!
