Stampin’ Up! Floral Art Gallery Butterfly Bijou

Good morning!  I’m writing this REALLY late on Sunday evening cuz…we “went” to Italy for dinner last night – which you’ll find out about later in this post!  So – if there are mistakes, it’s cuz I’m full as a tick on gnocchi and Nutella roll!!

The card I made for you features the beautiful Art Gallery stamp set and bundled Floral Gallery Dies.  And…some Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP – which you can get right now (but only thru 3 May – or until we run out!!).  Take a look-see:

The layout for this one is from this week’s Sunday Stamps sketch challenge!  It was really hard to pick one – I MIGHT have to do this one again and do the second sketch, too! 🙂

And the color palette is from the Color Throwdown Challenge.

And I’m also playing along with the Watercooler Watercooler Challenge.

I started with a piece of Calypso Coral paper from the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP that I adhered to the front of my Calypso Coral card base with Liquid Glue.

From a another piece of Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP I cut two long and two short Stitched Rectangles.  These are matted on Just Jade and adhered to the card front with Liquid Glue.

I adhered a Gold Hoop Embellishment to the card front with a couple of Glue Dots.

On a piece of Basic White, I stamped the small flower image from Art Gallery in So Saffron.  Then I added the small second-step image in Calypso Coral.  I used my Stampin’ Write Marker to add a little bit of detail to the smallest flower.  Then I cut it with it’s die from the Floral Gallery set.

I stamped the leaves in Just Jade and the large flower in So Saffron and Calypso Coral and cut them out as well.

On the large flowers – I added some Liquid Glue here and there and then, when it had dried to the point where it was clear – I added some Gilded Leafing.  I brushed off the excess.

I layered the leaves and large flower over the hoop with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I tied a Linen Thread figure-8 bow and adhered it with a Glue Dot.

The small flower came next with Dimensionals.

I stamped the Art Gallery sentiment in Calypso Coral on a piece of Basic White and cut it with the larger sentiment die in Floral Gallery.  I cut a Just Jade label, too.

I adhered them with Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals – added a few Just Jade 2021-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and the card front was done!

On the inside, I just added the Art Gallery flower in So Saffron and Calypso Coral on a Basic White panel.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Just Jade mat and then into the card base and the card was done.

My Basic White Medium Envelope got the Art Gallery image on the front…

…and a little more Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  The Art Gallery Bundle – with the gorgeous images and fun dies (check out the cool sentiment die in the Floral Gallery set!) – is a favorite that I know a lot of folks are loving!  And the Butterfly Bijou 6″ x 6″ DSP brings wonderful colors and patterns to the table – beautiful even without a butterfly in sight!

Be SURE to pick up the Butterfly Bijou paper right away, y’all – it’s not going to be around forever!

I hope you like!

Finn Fan Fix

Last night we brought Italy to Georgia!

Yep – Wayne and I – and about 20 Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team members – did a Zoom cooking class with a wonderful couple from Italy – Luca and Mara – who taught us how to make Gnocchi (all the way from boiling the potatoes to rolling them down a fork!) AND Nutella Rolls.

Y’all!  So. Freakin’.  Good!  I’ve had Gnocchi and it was…okay.

Homemade gnocchi?!?  Wow – no contest.  No comparison!

Check it!

I boiled the potatoes and then riced them.   Yes.  I have a ricer.  Don’t you?! 😉

Then we made a big old mess with flour and an egg and all those potatoes.

After a little kneading – we had a “loaf”.  Which I sliced up with my bench knife.  Yes.  I have a bench knife. 😉

We rolled out long ropes of the dough – cut them into pieces – and then rolled down the back of a fork to make the “gnocchi” ridges!

They rested for a while while we made the sauce…just olive oil, garlic, Tomato puree and basil…

FYI – by this point, Wayne (my sous chef!) and I had used half the bowls, tools and pans in the kitchen!  It was…like the aftermath of a small, very localized, tornado.  And Finn was trying to figure out why we were all still awake – still in the kitchen – and making such a freakin’ mess!

We boiled the well-rested-gnocchi then brought it all together, added mozzarella and parmesan and stuck it all in the oven, and…

And no Italian meal worth the name is complete without dessert…

Nutella Rolls.  Get in ma belly!!!

It was an awesome evening.  AND – we have leftovers for tomorrow AND more gnocchi in the freezer ready for another meal!

When we got done – I headed into my craft room to make today’s card (with the spectre of the kitchen katastrophe looming over me to be taken care of when I got done).  But – when I emerged….

Yes – my wonderful hubby-come-sous-chef had cleaned it ALL up! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I think I better keep him, huh?!? 😉
