Stampin’ UP! Wonderful Romance in Lemon Lime Twist

Good Friday!

Literally! 🙂

Hope you have a good Easter weekend planned – I’m headed over to our friends’ place in DE on Sunday.  We’ll go to church and then I’ll spend the day with them before returning “home” in the afternoon.  It’s been a minute since I’ve seen them, so I’m looking forward to it! 🙂

My card today is a bit of a tribute to two things leaving us at the end of May – the Wonderful Romance stamp set and…LEMON LIME TWIST!!  How many of you LOVE LLT like I do!?!  I was happy we got Granny Apple Green, which I also love, but…I’ll miss the bright pops of Lemon Lime Twist.  This is a monochromatic card featuring this fave LOUD and CLEAR.  Take a look-see:

Hang with me, folks – there’s a method to my madness!  This color scheme is thanks to this week’s Global Design Project challenge.

I assume you know what my color of choice is…?

And the layout is from this FabFriday challenge.

I started with some Gingham Gala DSP (this is going away TOO!! – so getcha some now if you want a stash of it!) in Lemon Lime Twist and matted it on Lemon Lime Twist for the card front.

To create the frame, I used two Rectangle Stitched Framelits – the large one and one that is TWO sizes down from it – and ran them thru the Big Shot on a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock.

On a piece of Whisper White, I stamped the large floral image from Wonderful Romance in Lemon Lime Twist ink.  Then I used my Clear Wink of Stella as a paintbrush to color the leaves with…say it with me…Lemon Lime Twist.  This is a great way to add color and shine all at once – and you can add shading simply by adding more or less ink!

I cheated the monochromatic theme ever so slightly – and lightly touched the middle of the larger flowers and the tiny flowers in Powder Pink with the Clear Wink of Stella brush.

I adhered the art behind the LLT frame with Liquid Glue and popped it onto the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from Wonderful Romance, is stamped in LLT on Whisper White, cut with a Stitched Shapes Framelits circle die, and matted on a LLT Starburst Punch mat.  Then I adhered it with Liquid Glue.

A few Pearl Basic Jewels and simple bow tied with a double length of Whisper White Solid Baker’s Twine finished off the card front.

On the inside, I stamped the leaf image from Wonderful Romance twice in LLT and colored them with my Clear Wink of Stella.  Then I added a few Pearl Basic Jewels.

I used Liquid Glue to adhere the panel to a Lemon Lime Twist mat and into my Thick Whisper White card base, popped the card front on with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was done!

My Whisper White Medium Envelope got more Wonderful Romance leaves on the front…

…and I put a little more Gingham Gala DSP on the envelope flap.

Et Voila!  Not gonna fib ya – I kind of love this card!  The Wonderful Romance floral looks clean and bright in – mostly! – Lemon Lime Twist, don’t you think?  And Gingham Gala will forever be a favorite of mine!  There’s a lot on this card that’s leaving us soon – so…I hope you like AND that you’re snapping these up!  Get your inks, refills and Card Stocks in the 2017-2019 In Colors right away – they’re only available while supplies last – and they won’t last long!

  1. I’m having a little moment of silence over here for Lemon Lime Twist too. Pretty card to celebrate the awesome color that it is! 🙂

  2. Well, of course, I am enamored with your card today…and I know who isn’t! I have gone through 2 packages of LLT! I wonder how many pieces Julie went through…lol. Happy Easter to you and your family.

    • stampsnlingers

Ha – I’m not sure Julie even BOUGHT any!! I bought too much and have it leftover! No in-between! Thanks, Karen! 🙂

  3. Great design. I think it COULD have been a beautiful card! ‘Nuff said. 😉

    • stampsnlingers

LOL!!! I’m pickin’ up what you’re puttin’ down! Thanks! 🙂

  4. Pat C.

Very pretty card, Mary. When LLT first came out I wasn’t so fond of it but came to love it. Now I too am sad to see it go.
Happy Easter and safe travels to DE.

    • stampsnlingers

I was sort of the same, Pat – it took me a minute, but once I saw how wonderfully it paired with so many other colors… WOW! Thanks, Pat! 🙂

  5. Kate

Very crisp and cool AND flowery. Nice combo.

  6. Heather Heroldt

Beautiful Mary – love the LLT feature, I’m so sad to see this one go – loved it even more that Lucky Limeade or Kiwi Kiss, sob. Your card is so fresh and cheery – love all teh stitching, too! Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!

    • stampsnlingers

Thanks – LLT will be missed, indeed! Appreciate you stopping by, Heather! 🙂

  7. Linda

Mary. How do you color with your wink of Stella. That probably sounds like a funny question but I don’t want to ruin my brush in my wink of Stella. Love the card and I am a big fan of LLT Thanks !

    • stampsnlingers

Hey Linda – I use it just like a paint brush, lifting the color off the top of the ink pad lid. When I’m finished, I just brush-brush-brush a few times on scrap paper and the brush is clean! You can also use an older brush – and keep a new one for “straight” Wink. Hope that helps! 🙂
